Also, your thumb is imitating - what else - the big surdo. It's like building a watch. How much of this was sorted out by João Gilberto, do you think?

That is a Bruko. They are fairly inexpensive ukuleles made in Germany. Unfortunately they’re closing up shop at the end of this year!
