    I enjoy watching you show different products, even dollar tree stuff. You always manage to make something cool. Cheap stamps are great for crafting with kids (especially if you have a group) and do have their place. Worth it for the sentiments for sure. Your honest reviews hooked me way back when I started watching you and I haven't regretted buying things you've recommended. I like the half-tone look on tissue paper for mixed media type stuff. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for sharing your creative ideas. I find that if I use a nail file on acrylic stamps and file lightly over the surface, the stamps accepts the ink better, and I usually get great results from them. Some people use an eraser, but I find that a light filing does the trick. Crafty greetings!

      TY! I know these tricks! It's not the stamp surface, it's the design. As you saw, the sentiment stamps and basic leaf outlines worked well. The design of the florals was just weird!

    Hmm, I have learned from this to not bother with Dollar Tree stamps. I actually do not have a DT nearby so do not go often to ones far away. I do like those sentiments too though. Wow, yeah about the rude comments. I totally enjoy your talking and thoughts and telling us things. As far as ones talking about rustling, as a crafter, I love crackling and paper rustling etc. It is a big part of my crafting life. Hope you have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend. I am catching up with your videos.

    I was "lucky" to find some in my store last week. Fresh boxes, had to open shipment myself. 😂😂 Yeah some of them stuck to the cardboard and were defective. I'll just call them distressed. 😂😂 The ones that come in the "taller, thinner" pks seem to stamp a lot more clear than the ones in the short, square packs.

    I like some of the Dollar Tree stamps some I do not. About 8 years ago, I gave away over 150 stamps, ATG tape dispenser , cropadile etc. Of course, when the pandemic hit, my love of crafting (cardmaking) was reignited big time. Now would love to have all my supplies back.

      Oh my too bad…it would cost you quite a lot to replace all that stuff. I used to quilt but I just don’t have the time for it anymore and I never really made much. I have decided I am going to start destashing MOST of my quilting fabric….I already sold a Big Shot Pro Quilting Edition extended die cutting machine. I just can’t get rid of ALL the beautiful quilting fabric though…at least right now. I’m thinking any creative activity I do that if I decide I’m not interested anymore that I should save at least a small amount of the stash in case I ever get the hankering to do it again. Hopefully you’ll be able to slowly build your supplies back up. 😊

  • @jalh3
    @jalh3 Год назад

    Stamps work best when primed first. Like pancakes, the first one is a test one and never turns out well. The second is better, and the by the third pancake you're good to go. Stamps in manufacturing have a coating. Use the palm of your hand or an eraser to remove it. When it turns cloudy instead of clear, you've removed the coating and then it will stamp better.

    • @VianneyCreates
      @VianneyCreates  Год назад

      I promise you it's not that they aren't "prepped." I've been working with stamps for over 25 years. I know all the tricks, and hardly EVER do I actually have to "prep" them unless the stamps are just super cheap. Acrylic, red rubber, photopolymer...they all have different abilities. The problem here is the design of the floral images...you can even see it on the carriers. They're weird. The sentiments are pretty good, so not a complete waste. I'm super curious why people continue to leave me comments like yours, I assume trying to be helpful...but wording it in a way like I don't know anything about stamps? LOL!! Thanks for your time and comment. (:

But I'm afraid they will get stuck again after a while. I bought a few of the new Dollar Tree stamp sets. I haven't used them yet, but I'm worried they will get stuck, too. Is there another type of material you know of that I can swap out the carrier for?

    Yes, the tag was better….I think the colors were just a bit too pale, but fine for a tag.😊 Even though DT stamps are not the best quality, it’s hard to resist buying them just for kicks, if nothing else. And then they can be donated or let your kids play with them….no great loss.

    Shocked at where you purchased these because some of them are Stampin’ Up knock-offs. Am editing to add that most of them are, and the reason the stamp you used did not stamp well is because the SU originals are what’s called “distINKtive” and are very difficult to copy properly.

      I have used markers with even the worst of acrylic stamps, and it generally works. I don’t do this technique often, the only reason I did it with this one is because it had different areas I wanted to color. The stamps themselves aren’t manufactured very well, I have other stamps that are similar style… And of course they work much better…think Local King Rubber Stamp.
