- I'm pleased to show my entry into Rag'n'bone Browns "Bowl without a lathe challenge".
I wanted to steer away from the obvious round bowls and demonstrate that beautiful and delicate objects can be made using simple tools.
I used a bandsaw and table saw in this project but in theory it could be done quite easily with hand tools and by the amateur wood worker.
The wood used in this project is what was left over from my very first RUclips upload, oak and sapele that I found in a skip!

You sir, are a master of the herringbone pattern. The herringbone table was the best build method I’ve seen using that pattern and now a bowl! I’ve been planning a herringbone outdoor bar top and I like your glue and screw method using plugs to hide the screws. Well done sir. BTW your butterfly child’s chair is very cute. I plan to build one for my grand daughter.

Very beautiful design, and another great video. The Sapele was an especially nice touch, and really gave the bowl an elegant look.

Very cool I like the look of it with two types of wood

A some point I wanted to make a herringbone style top of a guitar and this has given me the boost to do it. :)

Refuse Reuse Cool! It’s actually very simple to build, although I used some machines the whole project can be done with basic hand tools and all the materials were found in a contractors skip. Thanks for watching man, much appreciated!
