    Great lesson and tone! Another good thing about these guitar world lessons, besides real guitar heroes such as Hoekstra, Satriani, Friedman, Angelo Batio, and such, is all the smiles. the teachers who are more known as teachers, too. Thanks guys (and gals.. I love occasionally having a female guitarist, too! more than occasionally would be great) and Guitar World!

    Wahoo! Joel's back for another lesson. Oh how I love these lessons. I don't do much ghost bends, I'll have to incorporate that in more. Love the Black Beauty! Just bought a 2016 LP Tradish Honey Burst a few days ago. These guitars love the bends.

    Great stuff.been working on this.something I was never real consistent with,not knowing much theory.now the more I learn and know what notes to bend to is so helpful.and there is a lot of intermediate and beginners who are watching so thanks for mentioning that

    I love the idea of ghost bending. I like hitting a note with a bend then hitting the next scale tone on top of that with the same bend before coming back to the original note.

    Awesome video man! killer bends.
    what kind/size strings do you use?
    I find my strat is still hard to bend with 10's and ive been playing for several years and i dont usually have trouble with other guitars.

      @joelhoekstra13 8 лет назад +1

      I use Ernie Ball Power Slinkys .11-.48. Strats can be harder to bend on than Les Paul's due to the scale of the neck..

    What string gauge is that?

    • @joelhoekstra13
      @joelhoekstra13 8 лет назад +3

      .11-.48. Ernie Ball Power Slinkys. The trick for me these days is going between being tuned standard for sessions, TSO, etc. and then whole step down (with Whitesnake).
