GT-R has full exhaust and intakes on an E50 Tune making over 600 whp.
Evo IX has a fully built motor with cams, built transmission, upgraded Precision turbo on low boost making 550 whp on E85.
1st roll was from 50 MPH
2nd roll was from 60 MPH
3rd roll was from 40 MPH

LEFTY MELTDOWN IS FUN. They take good power but you can’t shift them anyway you want. They still lock you out at high rpm so you have to take your time

Yea we did a few runs other then these. He just got the car very recently and getting use to the shifter and clutch so he had some bad shifts.

I love the Evo’s so much. No other car gives me the feeling I get when I see an Evo. I pray Mitsubishi brings them back in their true form and make a comeback. I wish I could have a shop working exclusively with Evos. Well I guess all JDM sports cars would be cool too lol but yea I’d like to cater to the Evo.

Driving a manual isn't that difficult. Get an automatic or manual it doesn't matter.
Both have their pros and cons. But autos are more consistent.

@@Its_Me_Relic the cars are getting older, newest ones are 06 which is still very old. Most of the ones in the rust belt states are pretty rotted and it's sad to see. Theres some clean ones but it would be a sin to daily a 4g63 evo imo... future classic for sure.

Yes it was. Now unfortunately the evo later that night when he went home ended up putting a hole in his block 😟. Prolly was on its way out because previous owner had it around 1k whp. But it's getting a new motor as we speak and he will be good to go very soon. I'm going to be doing several videos with him once he's back 😇 stay tuned
These Evo's are pigs compared to older ones like Evo 4. A tuned Evo 4 is one car to never be fucked with.

I have a friend with a gtr. He says it makes 650hp at the wheels. Anyway, the car will spin all 4 wheels through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. From a dead stop, it is like being shot from a cannon at a carnival. We were at 100 mph and it was STILL clawing for traction. The transmission is......incredible. It changes gears in the blink of an eye. Maybe my friend is sandbagging his horsepower number. I know one thing. His car is nuts. It would have peeled the paint off of either of these two.

Coming from bone stock and to be reliable at 550+ whp...a little less. If you shooting for like 650+ and getting those big turbo kits then yea it'll be 15k+ atleast if you do it right with the parts and labor

@@LoXHumaN yea they gotten more expensive over the years. They are a great platform and very lightweight. For its time in early 2000s they were amazing! BUT not the best bang for your buck anymore when you have mustangs and camaros that are around same price with ppl just putting an upgraded supercharger and running 550-600 with bare minimal supporting mods without building motors and stuff. But if thats what you really want... go for it. Evos are awsome cars👍
I'm building my evo9 right now and a 2.3 stroker cost me $15,100 alone and I pulled the car apart myself. Twin scroll turbo kit with a precision 6466 was $5500, trans, tcase and rear diff are around another $5,000. Clutch is around $1800, ecu is $2500, coilovers roughly $1k, fuel system since I'm doing a double pumper setup is roughly $2k plus all the other little stuff like intake manifold, throttle body, piping, wheels, tires... It gets deep very quick, but then again I'm going for around 750-800 horsepower at the wheels.

@@h_tea the EVO is lighter! 😂 power isn’t everything. Sure the GTR might’ve have 125 more hp give or take but due to the increased weight of said gtr it’s going to take more power to move itself vs the Evo that is probably 700-850lbs lighter. Why do you think drag cars are somewhat light and have increased power? Lower weight is lower resistance meaning the more power the car can you to move forward. A lighter car with the same or very similar power will always beat the heavier car. Basic laws of physics

Always interesting to me I rarely see EVO's go to 5th gear on runs, always 2nd thru 4th.
I reach 110mph in 4th gear with my evo, I know I rarely go faster than that when I'm roll racing on public roads.
Most likely 4th is the 1:1 gear
*Very dependent on tuning* But 5th gear can mean bad things for the Motors 🥴 .. Unless you’re shifting at the top of fourth then you’re good to throw it in 5th but you’re already in the triple digits by then so .. 🤷🏽♂️
The evos 5th gear is no Bueno. Thankfully when built they don't even need it 😂
For those of you unsure why the Evo won. It's not just hp or engine size that determines it. Since in theory, the engine in GTR is bigger with slightly more hp in this case. Also GTRs can be boosted up to 3000hp, whereas evos can really only take 900-1000hp. But torque, weight and other factors allow the Evo to win. Meaning 600 hp vs 500 hp doesn't determine the outcome alone, although it's a factor. In some vehicles like an STI for example, the way the car is built is inferior and therefore that same amount of whp would produce much less results on the track

@@AutoGlory gotcha thanks. The guy that had it when I knew him had a GT35R and he ended up swapping it for a 6466 if I remember correctly. Ended up running mid 9s at like 160 something and then blew the stock engine. IDK what happened to it after that but this car is literally identical to it
The previous owner had it on a built motor making around 1k hp. Unfortunately this owner blew this motor which was probably on its way out. Its in the process of being rebuilt now. He will back on the road soon. So more videos with this evo soon! 😇

GTRs already come with it. Has a bunch of monitoring options built in.
One manually shifting the other just stepping on the gas pedal
Evo is nice and fast but the motor and gearbox is not going to last as long as the gtr's engine and gearbox because of all the boost that it needs to accomplish that but still nice👍

@@SkyboundMar I doubt that I’ve actually owned an 2003 Evo 8 I know the 4G63 makes power with less money but the transfer case and transmission are glass so putting 500 wheel to an Evo 8 would not end well unless it’s a built trans. I have a built block and STI six speeds are capable of holding 1000 HP so yes our subarus have their weak pistons.
