My House Build Pt10 - Glazing is here
- Hello!:) In this episode we tied all the necessary rebar and poured the tie beams on top of the walls we were building in the last episode. We removed the form work and installed four larch doors which will hold the glass panels. Also The triple glazing is here so we installed it with the help of an improvised lifting jig. In a few weeks, the front door should be installed so we can finally start with proper interior work. Also we should connect the shack and the house with a roof so we can take the crane to the other construction site we have to start asap.

It was clear from the beginning that your house would be perfect, but as I watch the construction continue, I think I should change the word perfect to spectacular. What is "just" a ten-minute video for me is long hours of honest and hard work for you. And that's not even mentioning the creation of the video itself, so thank you so much for your videos.
Thank you very much!:)I'm really glad you like them, and reading comments like this makes me know it is all worth it.
Well said, love watching this come together
The last shot really shows how far you have come along. Just beautiful.
Love the improvised lifting jig.
The clarinet music was perfect. I looked it up I liked it so much. Concerto in A Major for Clarinet George Szell.
Thanks for always being interesting.
And a big thank you, to you Mark, for watching my videos!:) Hope the future episodes will be interesting too.
At the end of the world, this will be the only house left standing... amazing workmanship
Thank you very much Branden!:)
Watching this go up has been absolutely fascinating. Those windows are pretty impressive. Can't wait to see more of the interior finishes. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching Seth! :) I cant wait to start working on them!
I have really enjoyed this build. And as a finishing carpenter of 30 years, I would love to have been around this project to observe the great skills and talents of all involved.
I do hope your neighborhood deserves such a Spectacular Home. This should be built in an Alpine Ski Resort for sure.
It’s looking beautiful. You and your fiancé are doing a very impressive job. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you again;)
This is one amazing house, that you and wife will make it a Home. I am loving this build series, not a troller but cannot get enough of this. Awesome that the wife is in the thick of things, she is a very hard worker. Have a great week.
Thank you very much Robert! I'm glad you like all the work we did so far. New profile pic?:)
If this isn't passion and dedication I don't know what is. 👏 🙌 🙏
👏👏👏 Bravo Maestro! Thanks again for sharing these videos with us. Making that jig to lift the glass panels was genius.
:) Thank you David for watching! Glad you like it. Not Genius, just pure necessity;)
True craftsmanship! Love the big windows!
Thank you Jan! Glad you like them. I just hope they perform as planned!
Wow! Very creative design and engineering on the winch. Was good to see the Foreman on the job.
Glad you liked it! I wasn't sure how I would make it until caught it with the corner of my eye, sitting on a shelf.. First idea was an electric winch anchored to the concrete floor and move a pulley from segment to segment. But I just couldn't find it.. But this one also did the trick!
👍 hope the weather lets you get the exterior finishes completed or fairly close.
I hope so too! we should start in a week or two..
Almost at the 40% point! I am sure having the building dried in will be a relief. Should be nice and quiet with those glazing units.👍🏻
Damn, I was hoping I'm half way there.. :D Still have to install four of them but I hope so too!
Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
What an epic series, what a beautiful house. You guys are proper craftsman. My compliments to the lady, she´s a PRO (and she kinda makes me watch the videos, not ashamed to admit...). :)
:) Glad you like it! I always say, if this was her channel, she would have millions of subs already..
@@lignumchannel You've just earned one sub anyway. ;)
After the hurricanes, earthquakes and not to mention the post nuclear fall out I´m thinking this house is going to be the only building still standing. I love over engineering.
After all the effort we have put into this, I just hope it doesn't get tested .. ;)
Espectacular!!! Felicitaciones! A seguir así!

Perfect job! You are really professionals! It's great pleasure to see progress at this project! Good luck!
Thank you very much!:)
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I’ve watched several of the videos leading up to this point and can’t tell if they are building a house or a bomb shelter; I’ve seen similar amounts of concreate used to build parking garages 🤣 In the U.S. a builder would charge well over a million dollars for a similarly sized home with a standard shingle roof and OSB walls, so I’m thinking they probably spent a small fortune 💰💰💰💰 on this build.
Anyway, I guess if you have the means to build a house that will survive the apocalypse then do it with style 😉 Great job!! 👏
Bravo!
XD Hvala! :)
Such progress! Love your channel!
Thank you very much! :)
nice house👍
Your quote "We are getting the hang of this"....well duh...😉 Of course you are. You are pros as form work and pouring concrete!....as well as other things. Making a winch to lift the glazing panels...now that's just showing off...lol. Just kidding. You are one awesome guy! I always get excited seeing a new video...yeah I am one of your greatest fans. Hope all is well and thank you for making and sharing this video. Hugs to you all!
😊 thank you! Yeah after all this learning on the spot, we are starting to think about maybe building couple of houses for sale and see how it goes. I is a difficult build but it is also very satisfying when completing each step.. Thank you very much for following this project, hope future videos wont disappoint! :)
your usual epic work - well done to all, its really coming together
Thank you very much Peter!
And mine!
Hvala Jakov!:)
And thank you Nicole !:)
I am watching this house construction video from episode 1. I am addicted to watching your video. I am from india. thanku for uploading such great video.i am waiting for final episode of this house.
Thank you so much 😀 To be honest I'm waiting for the final video of this house too! It would mean I can go to the next project! ;)
Grandios! Ein Traumhaus in extrem hoher Qualität!
vielen Dank Werner! :)
I'm so excited for you!
Thank you Jake:)
Absolutely first class.
Keep 'er lit Bro!
Thank you Ivan! :)
Deus abençoe grandemente as vossas vidas!
Obrigado por tudo.

I waited for 2 days to watch so I could give my undivided attention. Sweet!
Thank you very much cargogh!:)
It's been a couple of weeks, but was thinking about you, your crew and the house this morning.
Hope everything is progressing smoothly. It's nice to have feelings or a bond for a project so far away.
genius
looks great😎
Thanks 👍:)
Very nice home.
Thank you 😊
@@lignumchannel your team rocks!
Old school hard working trades men and woman.
This is the future so all of you reading this teach your skills to a young person please.
Con cuanto presupuesto han hecho esta construcción?
Nice, complete the next video
And the Mozart Clarinet Concerto makes the perfect background. Are you having any supply-chain problems? I see that many US builders are finding crazy lead times on goods. I'm finding enormous difficulty finding good craftsmen available in a reasonable time-frame - have had some wall that needed paint and only two months ago finally found one - now I have to wait until the end of October. "Welcome to Brexit-land!" By the way, I love all that glass - my house is over 200 years old and the windows are rather small so lights are often needed.
Glad you like the Music and all the glass. I cant wait to see how it performs in winter!:) We have some small shortages, for instance, when I went to buy 10 cm separating wall bricks, they were out of regular 25cm which never happened before. They resupplied in a couple of days but suck holes happen now and then for some building materials. Also some species of woods we make guitars from are getting harder to get.. Nothing serious for now .. but the waiting lists at the car mechanics are horrible due to car parts shortages..
Is there anything you can't do? Amazing work!
:) Damn, nothing new to learn, sound terrifying! Thank you Grey G!
I can't find part#9... Could you please send me the link? I can't skip it...
nice big windows. I would think that having the window structural beams also be the exterior face would be a long-term weatherproofing risk?
I was there on a few occasions when rain was pouring and the winds we quite strong. Overhang keeps all the rain but the few drops at the bottom away from it so I don't worry much.
Amazing work. Two things Im curious about; how ill the plumbing and wiring be done (guessing we'll have to wait for that episode). And what type of climate do you have where you are? interested in what considerations for insulation you had to make?
Thank you J T! :) Whole exterior will be wrapped in 15 cm of EPS and the parts will be in ventilated larch siding, I'm still deciding on the details. Plumbing and wiring will be done some in the ceiling, some in the walls, some in the floor, nothing will be visible when completed. We still a lot of layers to put on.
Obozavam ovaj kanal.
Hvala Stevo! :)
Love it, but could never afford it. That has to be the most expensive house construction I have ever seen. Could never build a house that way in North America - way too expensive.
Part 9 video was taken down?
Hi, did the part 9 disappeared ?
Incredible, how will you close the over the glasses between roof beams .? Its a real question, sorry XD
Outside will be the same larch as the future facade, and the inside the same as ceiling. In between will be stone wool.
Looks great. What are the plans for the walls inside? Plaster?
Glad you like it! :)We plan to make different covers for walls, some white plaster, some hot rolled steel, some wood
My guess, the price at the end 1M euro
I'm both passionate for DIY and clarinet and it's funny how I'm enjoying both with your channel. If I'm not wrong you chose Sharon Kam's interpretation on Basset Clarinet In Prague for Mozart's 2006 Celebration.
👍👍👍
Does this house add exterior insulation?
Yes, 15 cm of EPS all around.
Can you tell the price of all thiss home
Sorry but I still don't have a figure.
I feel a need for the use of the word “window” somewhere 🙂
:) Next episode for sure!
@08:15 "first one was scary" I'll bet it was 😰
Yeah, I used both suction handles just in case.. :D
.
Very good house! But, roof shape is so ugly.
Thank you! Sorry you don't like the roof:(
It's interesting to me that you put the glass in before the main texturing of the house, here in Greece, if we did that, the glass would be ruined due to the mess that is made while texturing, I'm anxious to see how you'll handle that part. I also want to congratulate the person I am assuming is your wife for being an unsung hero in this whole thingm, she's always there helping to build her own home, literally getting her hands dirty to help out in any way she can, and seemingly doing an excellent job! Keep up the great work guys, anxiously awaiting the next part!
I'l make sure she reads your comment, It will make her day for sure. :) We will press the Eps against the window frames so they have to go first, We will protect them as much as possible during the siding and interior work but as always, accidents happen but I just hope not too big.. ;)
I like the fact that you're making/using a lot of unconventional methods to save time/money, such as the window-lifting thing. I did use commercial service for that same thing and it was pretty expensive. Also this project has a lot of details that I haven't seen used in home or even in any RUclips videos, so it's nice to see how everything like this gets done. Looking forward to next episode!
Thank you! Hope next episodes wont disappoint! Yeah each region has its building methods, common here but as what I can conclude from the comments, we are a pretty small region;)
Amazing, that house is earthquake proof!
I truly hope so!
Looking good! You could've used a power tool (drill/impact wrench) to help lift the glass instead of hand cranking it.
Thank you! Where were you when I needed you !:D
It looks like you're entering the home stretch on your new home! Continued success!!!
Fingers crossed!:)
Gluing those walls with that foam was interesting. Wondering if that is enough to hold them from falling down if the side force was applied to them.
Always amazed at how much concrete is in a newer European house compared to a newer American house.
Right? This looks extremely durable and long-lasting compared to a stick-framed American house. It's fairly common to get 100+ years out of a wooden structure if you keep it dry, but eventually it's not worth maintaining. As long as the rebar doesn't rust, this one should be good as new for many, many years! I do wonder how they're going to run utilities like plumbing and electric, my walls are just packed with them...
I hope it will hold for a few generations:) Plumbing coming soon! ;)
Always such great videos. This house will still be standing in 1,000 years, I’m certain of it!
Wouldn't that be something!:)
where your country
Such an awesome project to see come together! Also, Glazing = Glass?
Yes
Correct! Glad you like the project!
how thick is the glass pane? what is its formula? Is there any spray on the glass? Will there be triple glass in the door too? It is not clear whether sealant was used when installing windows?
door frames installed without foam and sealant? will not be blown by the wind? thanks and all the best
Thank you! :)Yes, I was in a hurry so I didn't film all the details. Yes I applied sealant all around before the glass was slotted in place. No foam is allowed because it could harm the black polyurethane adhesive around the panels and argon could leak. panels are 5+12+4+12+4, 37 mm thick. They are filled with argon and interior panel has a low-E coating. Outside will be pressed with larch boards and sealant will also be applied on the outside.
Inace, odlican video ;)
How do you insulate the glasses ? how do you close it in exterior please ?
I ask cause I want to make same glasses in south part of my house.
Thanks a lot for the video
Next episode will hopefully hold the answers:) Thank you for watching!
Very cool! Just curious - why go with masonry for the interior walls, and how will it be finished in the end? I will of course keep watching to see it unfold!
Working hard and fast with such hot and gorgeous motivation.
As always... absolutely fabulous 🥳🥳🥳
Pozdrav.
Must make quite a difference to how it feels inside now the glass is in (plus in time for the end of the hot weather).
On the comment @4:25, so more reinforced concrete and block work going to feature in your next massive glulam build or are you just going to fully pivot to home building? ;-)
(or was building one house stressful enough?)
Yes, it really does make a difference, but I must admit these were some of the most difficult and stressful days of the build.. but I would do it again:) I have a lot of plans and we will just have so see how it all turns out.
Wow the more that I see of your video's the more I think I'm falling in love, a lady onsite who isn't afraid of getting her hands stuck in to the job let alone scared of breaking her nails. You don't realise how unusual that is, here in the UK they're either afraid of breaking a nail or two and as for getting stuck in and getting their hands dirty well that's just a terrible thing to even suggest 😳. The house is starting to take shape and honestly I love the full height windows the amount of natural lighting that they will let into the house is going to be absolutely stunning. As always guy's and girl 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
It is not so common here either so yes, I'm really lucky. :) Yes, this glazing was the big step in the process. I would say it is the core of the house. The first thing in design from which the house grew.
thank you, and Hi from Algeria
Thank you, greetings from Croatia!
incredible what you can do ! awesome
Thanks a lot!:)
The house looks better and better!
Glad you like it Olivier! :) Thank you!
Again, nice work brother👍🏼
Thanks ✌️

Jako dobro! Serklaži nad pregradnim zidovima su dobro odrađeni. Flašencug za stakla je genijalan!! Ak' nemaš nadzora za tehnički, samo zovi! Svaka čast.
Hvala!
Hvala i dobar savjet! sutra idu trake gore!

Hi I love your Video ,But the music in my opinion it’s a bit to much can’t hear the tools working ,Only my opinion no offense house looks nice very solid built it’s strong as keep going not long now it will be finished cheers 💪💪👍👍❤️🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
thank you very much Jess!:) when I edit, I add the music last and tweak the sequence to it. This episode was one of rare ones where I thought It really didn't need music. I might even try it in some episodes..
