it’s confusing when the standard is “mid-foot, near the tongues of your shoes” and “nearly brushing shin, about 1 inch from shin”. because for me, those are very different. like a whole 3 inch difference between the two. so which is it?? been trying to figure it out for forever.
thank you for giving me a more comprehensive answer!!
please make tutorial on how to now shit yourself during squats thank you
I have heard people say it's a bad sign to have scrapped shins but could never understand why. Excellent video great explanation
every technique video i watch that greatly details poor or inefficient performance is always a dead ringer for how I currently perform the lift..,,and this is no exception!
Great video Jp!!! You're the best deadlift form teacher I've found until now. Keep it up!
Every question I've thought about in my imperfect deadlift technique you have answered you are very very good at what you do man
Deadlifts are one of the pillars of powerlifting, bodybuilding, and strength training. So many people start off doing them wrong. Such a good video on this topd. Keep up the good work 💪
Been trying to figure out why my deadlift lockout always looks wonky in my videos... think this video nailed it! Will definitely focus more on this!
Jp, your videos are some of the most underrated powerlifting stuff out here. your bench videos helped my technique so much and my bench has been blowing up since. now im struggling with the deadlift and i'm using your videos as a good reference.
And loving the 'bloopers' at the end!
Awesome vid. Only thing: most of the time it will result in the barpath being slightly backwards. The shins are getting out of the way (moving back), bar stays connected, so the barbell moves back a little as well. One thing I noticed is when people learn to do this they often say 'oh now I understand the leg press cue!'
Double thumbs up!! I love that you talk about tips which no one talks about. But very very valuable tips and advice!!!
Thanks again for an informative video. I'll video myself to see if I'm using the correct technique as this a cue I've not been aware of.
Solid video as always john-athon!
knees back was a good cue you gave in earlier video, but touching knee and lower thigh is great!
Easiest way to learn is think is it as a leg pres ur pushing the floor . Just like on the leg press when ur holding on the support handles and u squeeze the handles and push the the weight away ..
Great info bro / or the first part of the moment should be pressing the floor then once it gets to ur knees hip thrust it
Love this tip! Thank you so much!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks JP
John can you do a video on breathing and bracing for the deadlift please?
I have found *the* absolutely best way to get the knee action you want is to use a hex bar. The only real way to move that bar is to move your knees/shin backwards. Leg/knee memory transfers to regular deadlifts perfectly
Came for the knowledge, stayed for the bloopers.
Wow the bars not supposed to scrape your shins ?! .... it’s so funny how many so called “Coaches” have zero understanding of biomechanics and say these dumb things . JP always keeping it Knowledgable. Good video 👍🏻
i like this video so much. If you don't mind, i would like to ask your permission to share this video to the other website in China for the embarrassing reason that RUclips is blocked from accessing in China. Of course, i will give sources of the original website.Thank you very much.
Another great video!!
Will this change much based on lever lengths , ie long legs / short torso and short legs / long torso ?
Can you give programming advice for older lifters
Same applies to sumo?
Shins out of the way as fast as possible ?
Great information as always
the shins already out of the way before pulling sumo
WHATS CRACKIN ...
Have your endorphins
Never understood how guys can be cool getting around with permanent scars on their shins. Fucking ridiculous.
Get a haircut
