Good review. The Actuation menu looks very useful, particularly for things like the radiator shutter that are not easy to check for correct operation. Very handy. Probably discover some hidden features along the way too...
I have this. A great device but I just wanted a bigger display and possibly more functions too. Some of the text were lost in some menus. So I have ordered the Launch CRP919E. It supports all brands and have a display with 60% more resolution and almost 4 times the display area. And a battery too of course. All for just a little more $
Roughly 4x the price and only gets 2 years of updates rather than lifetime. Same functionality with the larger screen, battery, faster processor (probably) and all manufacturers supported out of the box. Unless you have a garage of every brand of car out there, the new creader elite is probably the better buy for most.
HI mate , this is a grate video . thanks for the content . i have noticed that this tool can be used for Key programing as well . do you have any idea how ?
It's only upgrade and update functions. If the tool works for you today and your car remains the same then it's good for life. No more updates doesn't make windows 7 unusable ...
Great video, thanks for posting, although, at 16:30, for the OBDII protocols, you only show it for a few seconds, and the ones we see are all 'Failed', yet you make no mention of this, what appears to be, a serious failure of the device. My version, which has a 'Landscape' screen orientation, although still called the same thing, fails at every one of these! Anyt ideas as to why it would fail all?
If it fails all of them, then it wasn't able to communicate with the ECU and either the ECU is dead, there's a wiring fault, an issue with the connector or an issue with the reader
Bought it about 6 months ago, and really wanted to like it. But it’s useless when it comes to some serious “special functions”. On my 2004 in 99% of cases VANOS for example never shows up at all. Sometimes it does, but the figures it gave me were so off, that according to them my car shouldn’t have been running at all. Slow, anti-intuitive, not a serious tool. Waste of money.
They didn’t specify that it wasn’t compatible. It kinda worked and then didn’t and then it did again and then it didn’t, and I just gave up on it. Wasted money.
@@marknoir i just talked to a seller for it they said it wasn’t compatible for a 97 540i so, it’s supposed to be for bmw they’re made in china 🇨🇳 so kinda sketchy

Bidirectional controls are very vehicle dependent. On my other car, you can control almost everything, even individual exterior lights

Your diagnostic tool is probably the most important kit
Do you know if it deletes the airbag light? I have this tool. But it keeps coming back

You need the add-on module. It connects by bluetooth and can RF program keys
Nice but I bought the thinkscan max 2 obd after your review so far it's been excellent
The Max 2 is definitely more versatile, so a good tool to have. Glad it's working for you.

The "Failed" is normal. The reader tries each protocol until it gets a response from the ECU that indicates the protocol matches
If it fails all of them, then it wasn't able to communicate with the ECU and either the ECU is dead, there's a wiring fault, an issue with the connector or an issue with the reader
HOW DO YOU DO A PROPER REVIEW WITHOUT GOING THROUGH EACH FUNCTION???
Dose it do elv x cas
it's not really misleading as far as the fees are for coding because shops have to pay for the same abilities.
