- James O'Brien and Nick Ferrari callers try to figure out why Rishi Sunak called the General Election 'early'.
After months of speculation, Rishi Sunak has called a General Election that many expect Labour to win.
Speaking on the steps of Downing Street, a drenched Rishi Sunak vowed he "will never leave the people of this country to face the darkest of days alone".
Mr Sunak declared it "the moment for Britain to choose its future" and said the election will take place at time "when the world is more dangerous than it has been since the end of the Cold War".

8 minutes in, the caller said "Labour like to spend lots and lots of money", without being challenged,
This current Tory government have nearly quadrupled the national debt in 14 years.
Highest debt, highest taxes. History rhymes. Tories are never the financial grown ups they pretend to be.
Not all debt was unavoidable due to the pandemic. Debit started with Gordon Brown and carried on by Osborn. It was was called printing money.
Exactly. That caller couldn’t distinguish between money spent on the country & money given to their mates.
@@basher5013 National debt started with Gordon Brown? I think you'll find that it started with the advent of the Bank of England 300 years ago!
They are not in a position for accusations against any party . 😂😂😂

Perfomatively thick.

Nobody is voting for Cons. I predict the worst performance ever for the Conservative party.
I'd like to agree but there are a lot of shy tories out there. They'd vote tory no matter what damage they do to the country.
Nige will be he's a Tory boy through and through
My dad's a lifelong tory. He can't imagine ever voting for anyone else.
So this election he simply won't be voting. And maybe never again.
Did you hear his feet squelching as he walking back in, what a tool.
"Man up and get wet" - or use the £2.6m media room they set up? Classic Tories, couldn't even plan a press event never mind a p-up in a brewery.
Umbrellas are woke anyway. The man who claims to have common sense doesnt put press conference inside during rain storm

How anyone can still support or put their faith in Sunak and his cronies is shocking.
You'll vote Labour like an idiot but can't give 1 solid reason why you should, outside of "it gets rid of the Tories."

What about holding the press conference in the multi million pound press briefing room that was built during covid? No rain and no music lol
Was his suit waterproof the rain seem to glow and stay on him, and the music drowned out most of his words,it was a masterclass of how to disrupt a speech by the regular Brexit campaigner who is outside most days shouting outside parliament gardens to get there at short notice
There's been a pandemic, a war and this and that...
Tired of hearing this excuse, like we have ever had a period without poverty, war and disease across the world.
Pathetic excuse.
Most of the issues we are facing are inflicted on purpose by the TORIES on us all.

over the last 14 years of Tories, Carol Voderman worked out that they spent approx 5000 days, £375 million per day. Worked out from the national debt. That's unbelievable.
One caller was an absolute joke. 😂
Was it "Nigel", I bet it was...
Rushi, wants a holiday and to spend his £150 k annual pension...he cares about HIMSELF
Sunak is a very wealthy multimillionaire. Most of his wealth is in assets that will almost certainly be appreciated each year. So he makes millions each year without spending or lifting a finger. That's why people like Bernie Sanders & AOC say to tax the wealthy multimillionaires & billionaires otherwise their assets keep growing in value, earning them millions in untaxed income each year.
And worst than that been responsible for the premature Deaths. of 30 odd thousand of our Elderly which so many have, already Conveniently forgotten already and the On going Suffering of Millions .Lizzie Stevens .

To be tough on crime, you need more police and equipment. To pay for it, you need to tax more. All this makes the government bigger.
Classic.

"maybe" doesn't have to prove itself, "maybe" doesn't need track record, "maybe" can also avoid smear and corruption... so the politicians JUST WANT the word "MAYBE" to enter the publics head,... that's ALL THEY NEED FOR A VOTE!
Maybe!

Illiterate Paul and Humpty Dumpty Ferrari having a lark.
Nevermind immigration we havent enough homes for our own, id sooner see more homes for the people, less homeless on the streets cause it looks tacky, lower taxes and higher work income, and force private companies to lower their prices, like water and bis companies, it cost over half of your first hours wages for travel to work and back everyday, make more incentives
Govts can't tell private companies what to charge unless they bring in price regulations which would destabilise the markets worse than Truss did.
@@royboy565destabilise what markets? And if the market can’t be stable without price gouging the public then that market is broken
@@MMCMYou obviously don't know how the stock markets work and in particular the money markets. Any sign of regulation or unfunded tax cuts(Truss) can cause turmoil.Truss's little adventure cost us billions.

Yes we're going to miss the fantastic brilliantly functional Tories
If he had an umbrella, the media hacks would have kept digging to find something to mock him about the umbrella.
No, they would have responded to what he said. That's why Sunak is politically tone-deaf - he can't work these things out. He's constantly doing things that work against him and his appalling party.
He's bright enough to have made a lot of money out of you throughout his working life, and maybe bright enough to make you want to pay him even more, but not bright enough to understand how to present himself so that he gets listened to.
Fact is Sunak is politically naive.
I bet Keir Starmer will do a much better job (sarcasm). Better than how he handled the CPS while all that grooming was going on it is to be hoped.
@royboy565 If you say so. Is that a JOB quote?
@@charlesjohnston8161Starmer transformed the CPS so much so that the P M at the time, David Cameron congratulated him and even the right wing rag the Sun, had a column praising the work he did. What you obviously fail to understand is a successful prosecution needs evidence to bring about a result. The police provide or don't provide the evidence.
Labour will privatise the NHS!
