I've been a big starcraft fan for a long long time and I've never really gotten into playing against people but i love watching your content. It really makes me want to do what you do even if i'm terrible at it! Thanks for keeping starcraft in the spot light.

Just don't have expectations of winning the game. Pick goals you can achieve and go into it with the mentality that losing is fun too.
You make everything seem so easy, even in the most intense moments you keep your mind clean about the situation. It’s like watching really good specialist do interesting educational analysis on their practice for students. Most of other SC2-content creators doesn’t have your kind of magical personality and respect for opponent’s play, so you honestly earned a special place in my heart, gj lad, keep it up :D

What if you got building armor at the engineering bay? Also would love to see you fully load up a CC with SCVs and mass repair the morphing PF in a protoss or terrain main base.
The reason uThermal is doing these cyclone strats is to show that when he says “Don’t use cyclones against protoss” it is generally true. He has gone against his own words multiple times and keeps losing because of it. If uThermal is going to lose then you CERTAINLY WILL.
TBF he did say cyclones are good until protoss get blink.
That logic doesn't entirely hold when he is playing against Clem

Mark, I have an idea for the planetary rush. A minor variation.
On maps with a gold base, put the command center on the gold base. And then mine from it for a little while. Put maybe 5 or 10 workers there.
Then attack with your regular army and move the command center in and turn it into a planetary. You can send the workers home or use them as part of the attack.
So obviously this occurs a little later. It's not quite a cheese. It's a mid game attack.
The idea is that as soon as your opponent discovers the gold base, that puts you on a timer. You then have to launch the attack shortly thereafter.

I think i saw your next challenge in one of pigs recent salt mine(? Might have been icyfar). The repair station. Fast thor (repairable unit) with 5 scv's waiting just outside of battle to repair.
i don't know if it's because i requested it but in any case thank you for doing your planetary fortress rush challenge it has been extremely entertaining
PF rushing just feels so satisfying
Loving the content. I wonder if you can do one some time with high-sec auto tracking. Maybe against zerg where at first the PF is out of range of the expo, but then high sec auto tracking puts it in range. It really looks like sometimes that's all the difference.
I think that neo steel armor could help in the last game, because there would be 6 marines instead of 4 in the bunker
Hey Marc, absolutely love this series! One question I've often wondered: why don't you get Hi-Sec Auto Tracking when you do PF rushes?

It takes quite a while to finish and the gas cost would mean basically no reapers and delayed factory

On neohumanity, what if you put your planetary in their hidden expansion so it would hit opponents over the golden minerals when your units kited them back. Or just start mining that base and they wouldn't know about it until they tried to mine the mineral wall?
That first game, you built a 2nd factory by mistake but I think it was genuinely good! In that deciding fight the 4 tanks did insane amount of dmg

I was looking at that early cyclone vs phoenix play and I gotta say, one turret early on would have totally made it work. Even at the expense of one cyclone, maybe.

Marc dont fforget you can HIDE your workers INSIDE the planetary... and if they are in AUTO repair mode, they will repair each other in safety!

@@eclipseeffigy as a grandmaster myself id like to encourage the inverse of both your preconceived chess mastery. 1 unit can decimate 10 if you understand the frost does not stick to the blade of a templar.
He's said in previous videos he has gotten better with specific units, don't believe he's said anything in relation to overall though.
maaan, you should start buildings streinght and range right after pf starts, it will buf surrounding turrets too

In game 1 I would have loved to see you drop an early nuke on natural. He had all overlords grouped. You would have forced his army into the main or push into your planetary.
This may be my favorite challenge
I feel like reactored marines might have done better against the phoenixes in that protos match to hold the planetary longer at the start but i dont know
Can you copnsider an early structure armor updrade viable? If it finishes in time it can make a difference in how long it survives and also makes a calculation of how many units needed to kill a planetary wrong.

Given you are doing a lot of cheese. Have you considering using mules for midgame to late game to soak up baneling attacks and to gum-up the enemies resource lines?
Mules take too long to drop so it doesn’t really work. Plus most zergs move command banelings anyways

Have you considered starting your challenges on your existing Masters League or low GM accounts? The higher MMR matches like these are where these series really get good IMO.
Well, granted it is entertaining, but he still has to figure out the build(through multiple games) for the challenges.
On a learning the game and improving skill standpoint… it is better to play against better players so you can remember-not-to-make-mistakes more often.
