  • A look at the front before and after the rip out! I have yet to finalize the front yard plans but the contractor we use for our heavy lifting was able to come rip out today and that works as we still need to wait for it to cool off before we will be able to plant. Be on the lookout for the landscape plans coming soon!

I love and respect Linda’s gardening style and her former garden but it was time for a revamp plus we both work full time and needed something with less maintenance! 😂 I know I know! Everyone wants it gone and it will go eventually but for now it will stay. I think the back turf will go before the front. But we are busy enough to where we just dont want to worry about establishing new turf and adding sprinklers to the grass area will very easy when the turf gets ripped up in the future!

    • @cindyjames4201
      @cindyjames4201 11 месяцев назад +1

      I totally get that some folks might not like the artificial turf and I also understand why Linda did it. She did not want to spend time on the lawn that could instead be used on her garden. Sydney and Tommy will make it look as good as Linda did, just a different style.

    I have an older home which we moved into 35 years ago, and I’ve been ripping out things as well, some things I even planted, and those areas look refreshed and much more tidy. I had a lot of perennials that didn’t even bloom anymore and some shrubs just have an expiration date where they just don’t look nice anymore. With global temps rising, I’m choosing more xeriscape choices. Your front landscape looks very neat and tidy for now, and I’m excited to see your own design evolve. 🌿🌿🌿

    How exciting! I love a new beginning! This is going to be a wonderful transformation. Very nice doing it this way so you can see the blank slate you and Tommy have to work with and will be able to see the full impact of the new design when it's complete. You're doing such a fabulous job, Sydney! Can't wait to see where you take it from here. I know it'll be gorgeous and will compliment the house, not over power it.😊

    It looks awesome Sydney! After being in our home for 25 years I completely agree that sometimes you need to change things up in a big way. We’ve done the same thing in our garden the past three years. You are breathing new life into this stunning old home and I love following along as it progresses.

      You are so right. Sometimes you just have to start over! Things get over grown and plants expire and start to look so so. You have to do what makes you happy! Sounds like you are doing just that! My motto is always go for it and do what makes you happy! Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching!

    I agree about the new start. This year I simplified my gardens immensely. I couldn’t be happier. I too love simple clean lines. I just don’t want the work anymore,(getting older) but I still love a beautifully landscaped garden. I will use more pots with plants and flowers. Easily moved. Nice work.
