I literally just finished the same repair after about 15 minutes. I was prepared to pay big bucks to the dealer to fix it until i found your video. Thank you so much! Quick, easy, and everything works!! You sir, are a saint. Much appreciated!
I just got off of work, it's 10 o'clock and 25'. Truck wouldn't start. Started digging and found your video. My big work boots disconnected the plug. Just wanted to thank you for the video, you really saved me. God Bless
Wow, thank you so much for your video. I've had problems with the switch on my 2014 for a while now. It was causing my foglights to turn off when the right turn signal was on, and recently caused the dash lights to dim each time too. Did a quick Google search, found your video, ordered the part from Amazon and 20 minutes later, all fixed up.
Thanks for the very easy to follow video! I just ordered a new switch for my wife’s 08 Wrangler because it’s acting up. Good to know it isn’t a very difficult job!
Thank you! I’m doing my windshield wiper switch and this is a big help in figuring out where to start! I’m assuming I can just use my t20 from my torx bit set.
Awesome video my friend. Only thing is that the 2 screws hid up in the plastic were Phillip's on mine and NOT a torx. This fix took about 10 mins total. Thank you!!
Thanks man. Sitting here waiting on my delivery now for my new switch. My issue is the play in it prevents my fog lights from staying on. Hopefully this resolves my problem. Much appreciated 👍
Great video, my 08 unlimited on right turn flashes back and forth left right left right. Left turn signal works fine. That's probably the turn signal switch, right. Keep up the great work
I just replaced my turn signal on my 2013 jeep wrangler sport and had no trouble at all. Took me about 20 minutes to remove everything and put it back together
Thank you so much! This video was perfect and worked like a charm. Only issue I’m facing is when I put the bottom plastic piece back on (the one the goes over the ignition key slot) the top and bottom pieces won’t stay locked in position. All my tabs are on and my screws are as tight as they go and I’m still able to move them. Any thoughts?
Great video and walk through. Only problem is after the turn, signal doesn't cancel. Probably wait until its warmer to try again 10 Fahrenheit is not fun. 10:49
Thank you for watching our auto repair video that shows you how to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on a Jeep Wrangler JK. The new switch should cancel out once you complete the turn, if it does not it may be bad also.
If this just started to happen it may be an issue with a bad headlight switch. Here is a link to them on Amazon, just confirm it matches your year Wrangler and the options you have. amzn.to/40YF3tf
All the functions on my switch work except for the interior light function and the dashboard light dimmer. Does this mean that the entire switch assembly has to be replaced or can these functions be repaired?
I just got a 2014 JK and found that the wipers go on by themselves sometimes when I hit a pothole or a bump. I figured I needed to replace the wiper switch lever. Correct me if I'm wrong, but disassembling the trim around it should be pretty much the same as for replacing the lights switch lever, just replace the other side's lever, right? Found a replacement on amazon for $100 while the dealer wanted ~$250 just for the part. Didn't even bother asking for the actual installation fee. Thanks for such a clear and informative video.
Wow so almost all my electrical went out. Bought a switch but everything came back on. Happened again and thought my jeep was toast. Swapped the switch and everything works again.
Having the right tools, and knowing where and how to use them, makes all the difference...that's what she said. 😉 Very helpful video. A great time saver. Thanks. ✌🏽👍🏽
I'm having issues with my turn signal not turn off automatically after I make a turn. Would replacing the entire turn signal switch be the recommended advice?
@@HomeownerRepair By "cowl" I mean exactly the trim parts around the switch. They cannot be easily removed, there is a lip that prevents the top trim piece from coming out unless the whole steering wheel is removed.
This doesnt quite work with the 2017. There’s a lip in the panels that come off from behind the steering wheel and the bottom one refuses to come out. Spent an hour trying to get it out and it wouldnt budge. The lip from the panel is too far into the steering wheel. I might have to take apart the steering wheel itself to get it out.
I just tried this for my 2018 JK, which I see is specifically not included in the video.... There is a plastic collar from the upper and lower trim that makes them very difficult to remove. Actually looks like you would need to remove the steering wheel. Anyone else find this for the 2018 JK?
@@HomeownerRepair Thanks for the reply! I'm pretty sure you'll be taking off the steering wheel when you do, and alas that's way out of my reach. I'm still hopeful there's some other solution, but I'm not seeing it. Incidentally I got quoted $1000 + tax in Seattle from the main dealer to replace both switches (left and right) and $550 + tax from a local shop. Wish I could do it myself 😕
Cannot for the life of me get the bottom cover off. It's like it's stuck on something just won't remove. All screws are out and steering adjustable lever is pulled down. Feels like it'll break if I force it any harder. Very frustrating.

It might be bad.

Great video but on my 2007 jk the 2 hidden screws are Phillips screws
Thanks for watching. Hope this auto repair video helped you to fix your Jeep Wrangler.
I followed the link of the part on Amazon for the switch but it says it doesn't fit my 2017 like described on your video. Should I still buy?
This one says it fits a 2017. amzn.to/3w52Tbv
@@HomeownerRepair thank you
My left and right turn signals do not work in rear nor break lights or hazards wondering if this switch could be the culprit thanks
For starters check the fuses to see if they are good.
My right rear blinker and taillight are not working. I changed bulb and wire harness. Still not working. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Did you check fuses?
Did you get this resolved?
@@HomeownerRepair yes, evidently you cannot just replace the blinker bulb only. You have to replace both the break light and blinker light.
I'm ordering one for my 2011 Jeep wrangler right now off Amazone. $50 buck cheaper than auto parts stores..

Same thing was happening to me. Once I replaced the switch it cancels out perfectly now. Hope this helps you out.
I am looking at a PT Cruiser with this multifunction switch and can't figure out how to engage the cruise control. Help :)
We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular auto repair.
How do i know the exact kind of turn signsl switch i need to purchase? 2008 JKU with fog lights?
sorry just saw this
How do you get the cowl off? You skipped the hard part.
You do not need to remove the cowl to service this part. Some of the trim around the switch yes.
