    their areas are the ocean, it is impossible for people not to pollute them. In fact, we are their heroes a lot of times. Sea World also saves hurt animals who wouldn't survive on their own, makes them better then release them. They need to 'make money' some way(to care for them, and have many to help animals in need), For them it's showing them off to people.like a aquarium. They behaviors they do in shows are natural, and they enjoy doing it. in one day not one dolphin does the same behaviors.

    Dolphins are cute,amazing,intelligent and buetiful. peoples who think dolphins need to go out in the wilds, you should know that they are safer in sea world. if they are in the wilds, they can stay sick,maybe starve and maybe get eaten by a really strong and big animal, they are safe in sea world and they dont get sick in there and they get feed all the time.

    We "hold" lots of animals in captivity for our own benefit. From cats and dogs to birds and ferrets to bees. Having animals in captivity doesn't guarantee that they'll suffer, far from it. Money? Yes, but what Sea World does is give people the oppurtunity how intelligent and capable marine mamals are. People can see for themselves what wonderful animals dolphins and the like are.

    To the people that say, oh they are treated just fine, I have visited the same dolphin and she/he is still alive and is happy. But when your not visiting them, think what the trainers and others treat them like!!! Yea seaworld acts all nice like they treat them so well when visitors are there but when the visitors are gone they go back to hard, stressful training!

    Dolphins are intelligent and social creatures that, in the wild, interact with hundreds of pod-mates, hunt communally, and have entire coastlines as their playground. In captivity, all of this is lost. Social partners are restricted to a handful of tank-mates. Captive dolphins are fed dead fish (wild dolphins only catch and eat live fish; they never eat dead fish) and they face a profound reduction in space and stimulation. - WSPA; Enjoy the show!

    Seaworld don't get their dolphins from the wild anymore, that was stopped over 10 years ago, they're bred in captivity. People really need to learn more about dolphins before saying stuff that isn't true, if they kept the dolphins in the tank doing nothing all day the dolphins would die of boredom. Dolphins are extremely socialable and need to be doing and learning thing's to keep them stimulated, so learning and doing trick's is good for them, they enjoy it.

  • @TheGorbaa

  • @kingsmonarchsfan10
    @kingsmonarchsfan10 14 лет назад

    And the Dolphins, and Whales are fed well and cared for. They get fed all the time, and do not work hard for thier food. Even when the dolphin does not cooperate when doing a trick, they reinforce them by feeding them and they try again. Apparently Sea World hasnt been filed for animal abuse, so it looks like they are doing a damn good job. They have special trainers that stand by and measure thier health, diet, energy, and if they are wounded or sick they are on it faster than stink on shit.

    Also, They don't capture them and 'rip them of their freedom'. They are all born in captivity, They don't know that there is an ocean, just like many people in 3rd world countries who don't know that there are other countries. Just like where ever you live at the moment, maybe you like it because that is where you were born. If not, the time you lived where you were born you enjoyed it, because you didn't know what it was like in other places to live.

    Having just read this comment I would like to hear your point of view reguarding what I am about to say.
    Although SW gives the "best care" in comparison to other establishments, do they stop the animals from getting stressed and therefore being pumped with drugs? Do they stop the crowds from screaming and the music from blaring from loud speakers therefore preventing the disorientation of the dolphins? Do they prevent the needless death of dolphins from the stress?

    Watch the movie on Netflix about how dolphins hate being enclosed in cages that die after 2 or 3 years because they rely on sonar and the clapping and whistle blowing is like torture to them and how SeaWorld was one of the main dolphin purchasers in Japan where needless dolphin slaughter takes place to make a living. But then again it's just a movie I mean those are all special effects and stuff.

  • @94CHL
    @94CHL 13 лет назад

    @MissKiarna Fair enough, if they just kept them in dolphin parks situated in the ocean, thats okay. As its as close to their natural habitat as possible. But to make them perform tricks for us etc? That is not, its not natural for them. Dolphins in captivity should live in a enviroment that lets them live more like wild dolphins, not a place that resembles a large swimming pool. Thats all im saying.

  • @kingsmonarchsfan10
    @kingsmonarchsfan10 14 лет назад

    @LauroMarch Im niether, but i will say that they do a good job with their animal programs (Sea World Only). Since the dolphins are 'Domestic", to try to train an animals that has never experienced the wild, it would be difficult. the only way it could work is they would have to build a pen in the ocean like the original Shamu was in and then eventually set them free. I have rabbits, and they live in non-wire floors, and I cant set them free because they are "Domestic", but

  • @mrsgoldwife
    @mrsgoldwife 11 лет назад

    They are wild animals that belong in the ocean not kept in glorified tanks and pulled out for 2 hours a day to entertain you. As long as you, the public pays money to see these shows, then the captive dolphin industry will continue to flourish. By buying a ticket, your hands are as dirty as the dolphin slaughters in Japan

  • @XxSophieex
    @XxSophieex 16 лет назад

    how do the trainers actually train the dolphins to do all that?
    like the timing and stuff

  • @kingsmonarchsfan10
    @kingsmonarchsfan10 14 лет назад

    @LauroMarch I get what you are saying, its not right for them to be in SOME aquariums. But Sea World does a good job with their dolphins, and the dolphins do not starve or perform. Its like trying to put a domestic rabbit out in the wild, they would die because they are used to being fed pellets and hay. So I guess I could say that dolphins in captivity are domestic.

  • @nozomi29
    @nozomi29 14 лет назад

    I just reead this comment and I have to disagree with what you say.
    The care given by SW in comparison to other establishments may be "the best" however it doesn't prevent dolphins from being ill from the stress and therefore having to be pumped with drugs. The care also does prevent dolphins from dieing from the stress.
    Furthermore, in captivity the dolphin is bound by the times set by their trainers, they aren't free to come and go as they please

  • @Cranma5678

  • @MissKiarna
    @MissKiarna 13 лет назад

    @94CHL Due to laws against removing these animals from the wild, most of these animals were born in captivity or are incapable of living in the wild and large businesses such as sea world are actually helping cetaceans, as the animals in their care help us develop ways in which we can improve the quality of life for the cetaceans living in the wild, and to learn how we can protect them from the many threats are also roaming the ocean, so yeah it is something to be proud of, and i am.

  • @filbank

    You think this is great? See the movie "Dolphin Tale" if you live in the U.S.
    It is about a dolphin named Winter who is trapped in a crab trap. The boy came across him on his bike. The sea animal rescue comes and takes him to the hospital (for sea animals). The boy was currently in summerschool, so he was going to miss a few weeks. His mom had no clue that he was missing weeks of school caring for the dolphin. His tail is messed up and a doctor cures it. Watch the movie to see them save him.

    @LauroMarch But what I would really like is if they would transfer the dolphins to a big pen that was out in the ocean and then let them roam for a little bit, and then call them back. like put them in the Cirqu De Lamer stadium, so they can be in the real ocean.

    I've never been a fan of captivity, however I decided to watch this video 2 c what the animals have to do
    I think this vid is quite sad & just reaffirmed my belief that captivity is wrong. I would h8 for som1 to force me away from my family and make me preform tricks to make a few people go "wow".
    Also it's a pretty lousy deal 4 the dolphins who become so stressed that they are given drugs. Also cases of deaths have been repoted.
    This is exactly was deters me from becoming a dolphin trainer.

    @MissKiarna I know that some of these dolphins etc, could not survive in the wild as they have been born in captivity, but telling yourself that teaching these animals to do tricks for our entertainment is educating us about these animals, is wrong. We should transport these captive dolphins too a facility that will allow them too live more like a wild dolphin, & study them there. We don't need to protect them from the ocean?! They've survived for thousands of years living there without our help

    So your cat/dog is not alright in your home (if you have one)? just because it's domesticated doesn't mean it came from the wild at some point. and the orcas who do attack trainers aren't shot. There has been an orca or two who have 'attacked' their trainer, and continued to stay at that sea world. So do you feel the same way about zoo animals?
