The worst thing i remember about my visit here was the smell of chlorine. I dont care what they say about it not being used. When you've been there, you know. These dolphins are swimming in chlorinated water. I cannot imagine how it must feel for them. It can only imagine it must be like us breathing in car fumes constantly.
Oh god...that must be terrible. I know that I have been to a dolphins show when I was younger, however the people there hadnt used chlorinated water and they used the right one for dolphins. I feel so terrible for the ones who have to suffer through that though...
i got to swim with dolphins in egypt they kiss you wave drag you round the pool and take you underwater there so cool! loved it it was best thing i ever did
To be honest I think the dolphins love it there, especially when they get to splash water at the audience. That's probably their favorite part. Getting applause the harder they splash that water in the face
@@amydiloreto7380 k, whatever you say. But i dont see how facts can be wrong. I have never once seen in a video or in person, the orcas or any of the animals being physically tortured. Quite the opposite actually. They are given rubdowns, water hose massages, and healthcare. If you can find me one video or any hard evidence of the trainers or SeaWorld intentionally physically harming the the whales i will delete my channel and never go there again. I also dont see mental torture. The animals are given plenty to stimulate themselves. (Toys, interacting with other whales, guests, and trainers, shows, training sessions, and more) If they were starved you wouldnt have Tilikum who weighed in at 12,000 pounds, or Kyuquot and Tuar, both at 10,000 pounds still growing. Starved animals arent at a healthy weight or enthusiastically participating in shows.
OMG I WENT THERE! A little boy was asked if he wanted to jump in the pool and the dolphin woul bring him back up but he was only likw 3 or 4 so he didn't. I was screaming," I'LL DO IT!!! When you first see that tank it,s quite a shock, possibly above all other sea creatures it must be awful to have to live like that when your the master of the open sea
Roxiane Alexander yes I agree with the first part, but they do go back to the ocean at some point in time. They don't keep them in there sea world home forever. They rescue the dolphins that can't survive without treatment, so they give them treatment, make sure they're better, teach them tricks, teach them how to hunt, give the proper care, give them love and affection, put on a show, then real ease back into the wild, so really everyone is happy. The dolphins for getting better, learning tricks, getting love and attention, getting lots of food and a win for the people because they get an awesome show that amazes them.
i understand how this is not a natual enviroment for them but my cousin works with dolphins like this and she has taken me along to the training sessions and shows to help out and the dolphins love doing tricks and playing they love company and it gives us a chance to see how talented they really are.
Biologist here: For the tricks that the dolphins are forced to do, their owners almost starve them to make them perform tricks and they only feed them after the show dolphins are used to eating LIVE FISH The clicking sounds that they make bounce off against the walls of their tanks, driving them almost crazy and if you think you see a smile on a dolphin s face, they aren`t really smiling. It s just the way their faces are. Please DON `T go to ANY dolphin shows as some dolphins even die of stress every year for your entertainment
Most of the times it's a question of marketing. Sometimes people just remember a name extremely well. I worked in an aquarium where a dolphin named "Triton" lived; every time the TV or a news reporter came, "Triton" was the name of the animal featured, even though some times other dolphin was used for the footage or the pictures. And look at the Shamu franchise. There will always be a Shamu at Sea World, but I doubt that is the real name of every male killer whale ever featured in the show.

I suppose it's also worth mentioning that Norway in particular are hunting whales that in fact are not endangered in Norwegian waters at all and has had a science based management program in force for something like 70 years. If it's something Norwegians know how to do at this point, it's managing their fishing resources. There are not hunting licenses issued for dolphins at the moment. If they are killed it's due to other issues.

I got to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove once. It was during a family Disney World trip, but my mom, my sister, and I took a day to spend it at Discovery Cove, just to take a swim with these awesome animals!
For all of you saying "this is wrong they belong in the wild" listen to what they say. They tell you all these dolphins were born in captivity. That means there not adapted to the wild. Try freeing your dog and see how long they last in the wild. Plus how do we know that dolphins would prefer the wild too doing tricks for food?
Marcos Mendez Anytime an animal is taken against their will & put into captivity, be sure that is not their choice. Dolphins cannot be compared to dogs. Dogs are domestic animals & depend on humans for their care. Not so with dolphins, whales or any cetaceans. So you think it's okay to take any animal out of their natural habitat & subject them to the cruelties of captivity, Marcos? They are given endless drugs to make them calm; their teeth are drilled out; they suffer from intestinal diseases & chlorine poisoning & die from depression of being ripped from their family. Where did you learn that it's okay to deprive any living being of it's natural habitat? They thrive in freedom and swimming miles a day in the ocean. If you do not know this, Marcos, which appears you don't, then it's probably a waste of energy to converse with you; You seem to lack the basics here. How about we come see you in a cage...buy a ticket, eat popcorn & assume you like doing tricks for bird seed. Do you homework, get informed before you embarass yourself again! ...obw, you just called it yourself---You don't care, so why do you make these comments?? If you didn't care, you would not.
I just don't care that people keep complaining about my opinion. Truth is no one knows shit about anything. But they sure can complain about what other people say. That's why i don't care.
AnimalLeftist Maybe you should do more research and see how the animals behave around there trainers and handlers. If you notice a lot of them act like domesticated pets. I'm just saying you can't just throw animals out in the wild and expect them to do fine if they never learned.
Marcos Mendez , I am NOT saying throw them out into the wild, and I never HAVE said throw them out into the wild. YOU enjoy watching them do tricks for food. Research training methods. I notice that they MUST learn the tricks, or they do not eat. They offer behaviours, so they can eat. That is NOT domestication. I thought you said you didn't care what others thought. Because they know they will be tortured and starved if they dont. These places are hell for the animals
