Shot in the dark, but could you get a depredation permit. I know here we can go directly through USDA for a migratory bird out of season permit for EXACTLY the reasons you’ve stated. We have a huge issue with geese totally wrecking early spring planting and pastures.
Have you watch some Tig (GTAW) videos to pickup some pointers? There's two styles one is with a super Large Cup which allows the welder to walk the cup in bigger swats, the other is the smaller cups like what you were using it allows you to make close weaves for strength. In welding school we had to accomplish walking the butt end of a small green glass Coke bottle walking & rolling the bottle just slightly side to side making very small progressions forward on a wooden board (2x6 2x8 )in order to qualify to try with the Tig Torch (Tig Rig). The butt of the bottle would leave weave marks on the wood for the welding instructor to know when you had perfected the weave. You can remove the Tungsten from your Tig Torch and go practice walking the cup on a board side to side keeping your weave to about 1/4" wide weave to start. When you watch videos of Tig welding you will see the tungsten go side to side but I say watch the cup action bc he's WALKING THE CUP (weaving the Tig Rig) to get the tungsten to go side to side. Also mount your 4-1/2" grinder face up in a vise and lock it in (squeeze). Crank your grinder up & lock the trigger. Then put your tunsten in a drill and lock the jags around the tungsten and pull the drill trigger while holding a slight angle and Spin Sharpen you Tungsten with a long angle against the grinder. I use to sharpen both end of a piece of Tungsten so that when one end got dull I'd take it out turn it around to the other sharpened end and go back to work. A sharpened tungsten makes a prettier weld. When Tig welding don't touch your tungsten in the weld puddle or you'll get tungsten intrusion in your weld. I Tig welded a many years.
I've seen another farmer have a collar on the cows neck and when he had to do anything around the head , he'd use the collar to tie off the head to keep it from moving to administer meds or possibly tend to their eye. The grass looks so green there. I love the rain

Just takes practice Buddy. Got to get use to using two hands. The closer you can get the cuts the less rod you will have to use. I use to do alot of sanitary welds in the produce industry.
There was a guy who used to bring a couple of dogs out to a small airport near where I lived in Michigan. We were in the flight path of the Canadian Geese as they headed south for the winter. It was always a mess, we dreaded it. Well, I liked watching the guy at the airport have his dogs chase the geese away from the landing zone for the planes. He made some decent money from the Airport making it safer for the planes to land, the whole area was cleaner as well with the geese not settling into the area like they had before. He added more dogs to his team too. I know there was an Australian Cattle Dog, One had Border Collie in him, one was an Irish Setter, a bird dog,hunter, and the youngest one was a Lab. You could train your dogs but that takes time. You are already short on time. Just thought I'd mention it.
I used to live just south of Washington DC… Canada geese are thick in that area too and they’re such a nuisance!… there’s a couple of companies that offer a service where they use german shepherd type dogs that have been trained to worry the geese but not harm them. Once they have been in that area several times, the geese remember that and all the management team has to do is post a black silhouette type sign (sort of like a scarecrow). The geese aren’t so much of a problem once they’ve been worried like that… maybe your dogs could “volunteer” to help keep the geese less of a scourge in your fields. 🤔
I took Welding as an elective at (I went for Equine studies ) my friend Kate and I were the only women in the class - we had a blast learning the different types - I did better with Oxyacetyline - ended up with a B for the semester 😊😊
You've got polite steers. They don't talk with their mouths full. I started off learning to stick weld, then learned Mig. Tig welding is by far the easiest welding to learn and makes the prettiest welds.
Canada Geese are great table fare. Snow geese are more plentiful but they are somewhat smaller. Canada Geese are grass feeders. They can diminish a field in no time when their numbers are large. Hopefully they migrate further north like in Canada. Some geese stay here all winter as long as they have open waters. They are also called honkers. Take care.

Here where I live there is a guy that has dogs to scare off the geese. He goes around different places like golf courses that hire his dogs. His dogs even can smell bed bugs.
I will be doing the same thing as you Tyler practicing my tig welding I never did anything like that other than the old school gas welding and it's kind of the same way except you use an arc instead of a flame tip so but easier said than done but I mainly would like to get good at it so that I could do aluminum which is really tougher than steel so anyway you are you get it figured out then tell me all the secrets and then I can use it when I go and do mine thanks Tyler or I should say doc Tyler good job on the old steer there
Perhaps mount your random chunks of welded/practice metal on a base (trophy like) and put FTR or whatever makes you happy… Somewhere on the awesome looking metal and… A product can be shipped to loyal viewers! - - The chunk you showed at 15:25'ish! :-)

Man ! I hate round bail feeders. Rings of trampled grass in my pasture unproductive for a couple years I feed my bails between trees in my woods and I have expanded my pasture by more than an acre. I also like to drop bails in thick brush cows stomp down the brush and then I get grass instead of bush.
Little wind mill will do the trick. Had the geese on my yard coming from the lake . Tried the tape work for awhile but the wind mill did the trick local feed store watch your videos all the time stay dry
Wind is actually a blessing from God. Without the wind we would not have enough oxygen to live. Oxygen comes from the leaves of the trees. When there's no leaves on the trees the wind brings oxygen from other parts of the earth so we have enough oxygen in the air at all times. This shows the great wisdom of our creator.

That's what Jason over at Cog Hill Farm uses to keep his steer from moving the hay ring. He uses two t-post.😊
I use one so it can rotate and builds compost around it, and use it to grow Dragon Fruits in large lick bucket pots.@@jacqueline-fc8wb

Have you considered a propane scare cannon. It would require an investment up front but you will not have to worry about geese again
