***** Yes, but what I'm saying is that 3 years ago, 4K wasn't as big as it is now, not to mention that the original Xbox One might not have had a capable GPU to even run its OS and a few apps in 4K (even though Microsoft should've future proofed it; that would have given it an edge over the PS4).
Also, home consoles have been improved like that, specifically the PS3. I am pretty sure there were three versions of it - I have the second one, and they were getting thinner while at the same time offering more hard drive capacity. (I got my PS3 in 2010).

all exboxes are easy to tear down. you just drill a big hole in the middle of the console and throw it out.
How is the 360 Slim hard to tear down? I did a fan mod on mine and it can't really get more straight forward unless you just leave the screws out completely and have everything clip together with very obvious and aesthetically unpleasing clips. I actually think the One S would be harder to tear down than a 360 slim

I get what you mean, redundancy. Though Easter Eggs aren't always hidden. For example, it could be an inside joke that only a few people know. And that could be in plain sight.

Thanks Austin. Had to put in a pre-order after seeing the Master Chief "engraving" on the inside. Not that I'll ever open mine up, but it's nice to know how neat things are in there.

It took them three years after the release of the Xbox One to release the S. So they could have if you would have been cool sticking with a 360 until 2016.

The original Xbone had a smaller fan in it. The chip itself consumes less power than the one on the PS4 already(because it's less powerful).
***** There are plenty of cabinets that are too small for a normal XBone but the S fits.
Not to forget the external PSU, which the S doesn't have.
The XBone has obvious drawbacks some people just don't want to deal with.
Nice to see everything is more or less in the same place as when I took apart my original 360 (minus the power supply ofc) and orignial xbox

I wonder if putting aftermarket thermal paste on it would help make thermals and drop the fan noise down a touch. It is louder than the old xbox1 by a bit.

It's amazing how easy it is to open this up and take it apart. Working on the Xbox 360 was a HUGE pain. I'm not a huge fan of consoles but probs to Microsoft for having a great design and spending what looks like quite a bit of time coming up with this.

The Xbox One S is a 4k quality gameplay and at EA I have tried one of them and I was admiring how you just press the button and you can switch games in a second or just click back at yours, and if you shut it you can still carry on the part where you were.

lol when the xbox one came out, it just sucked pretty bad in my opinion
it was overpriced,it included that stupid kinect thing nobody wanted, and even though it was a 100$ more expensive than the PS4, It was less capable of running games
but now with no more kinect +360 backwards compatibility +internal power supply +huge pricedrop +bleuthooth controller (wich is handy for PC gaming) , i might actually want to get the xbox scorpio thing more than the ps4 neo
only thing i am curious about is if this model or the scorpio model will support upgrading the HDD like on the ps4

the reason the ons s doesnt have a power brick austin is because they did away with the kinects connection on the xbox s which draws extra power. the kinect will work with the xbox one s via adaptor which will require a power plug connection.
IDK if it is possible but you should definitely make a video that consists of you replacing the xbox one s's internal hardware with hardware from a pc and then IF it works out seeing how much better the game play is.

Really cool video! You can make then a little longer and go through things in a little more depth, I.e. the NIC I saw in like 1 shot or the RAM that was soldered onto the PCB.

I plugged in a Seagate 1TB external hard drive I had sitting around and the Xbox one s detected it and uses it for storage now, love that!!
The inside looks really cool, Microsoft should release a clear one to show off the internals, that's a lot of attention to detail

The hidden Master Chief is a neat little touch. I'm still not buying a Xbone, but that's a neat easter egg.
to change your Xbox harddrive to an SDD, its the same process as a computer. An exact-byte copy with a cloning tool should do the trick.
This brings me back to the days of repairing 360s with the RROD lol

Hasn't got a thing to do with drive firmware, this thing uses typical PC hardware standards with minor changes. Just NTFS format with the right partitions, and the OSUDT will do the rest.
deconstruct a vintage yamaha keyboard next lol got to mix things up a bit. It is still some what video game related since the old yamaha keyboards used an identical synthesizer as the soundblaster cards back in the 90's.
Let's say you have a Samsung SSD and the Migration program, could you then move the data from the HDD to the SSD? If so, could you do a video on that and boot it up afterwards to show that it works etc?
