im a boxing trainer but im also at a pro level in terms of skill and so I always demonstrate and spar with all levels of fighters. I understand fighters mindset. When i was in the military i hated hearing yelling from out of shape overweight superiors telling me im not doing neough. Its hard to take orders from people who cant do the things or comprehend the things they teach you. I personally encourage coaches to be in the trenches you dont need to be a pro to understand fighting and mechanics and applications but have some kind of credibility that can show a fighter that you arent just flapping your gums and anything oyu teach you can demonstrate.

And I agree that’s why I’m in the trenches with my fighters. I get In there and spar with them and point out their mistakes. Everyone thinks I still fight. I’m like na but I have to lead by example. But I’m sure Shakurs granddad has boxed before and if he hasn’t he’s done a great job of getting Shakur to where he is. I also feel like if there’s a disconnect with the fighter and trainer then the fighter should find a trainer who’s a better fit. Great comment and thank you champ 🙏🏾💯
