- 2010 Kia Soul + 2.0L engine. The motor mount and torque strut arm was diagnosed as bad at another shop and the customer wanted me to replace them. So I show how to do both and what the torque specs are for all of them. I was going to do an axle video as well but the axle were almost new with no signs of wear either and I informed the owner so there will only be one video. The torque specs are 47 lb ft on the 14 mm bolts on the torque arm and 80 lb ft on the bolt and nut on the the torque arm. Then the 14mm bolts on the mount is 47 lb ft with the 17mm bolts at 61 lb ft.

Nice video! Needed to do this then I searched Google to find "2010 Kia Soul Engine Mount Replacement". Thanks for the help.
You are welcome. I am glad that it helped you out. If you need anything else let me know.
This is an awesome video! Thanks man! I replaced the passenger side engine mount, by watching you. My Kia is 2011, 2.0 liters but it’s the same procedure. Thanks again!
I appreciate it. I'm glad that it helped you out. I am actually posting a couple of videos of a 2011 soul 2.0 head gasket replacement this coming week. Will be 2 maybe 3 videos. Have not edited the second half yet
@@operationoverhaul Awesome! thank you for posting these videos.
Needing to change my mounts. Thanks for this!
Your welcome and I appreciate the view as well
What is the bracket where the torque mount attaches to called?
That is the engine mounting bracket.
Need to replace my mount. How did u move the engine back into alignment to align the top bracket.
Are you talking about the bracket that attaches to the engine? If so, I put the mount on the bracket and used a long bolt to pull the mount against the frame then put the other bolt in to hold it while I installed the correct bolt.
I’m talking about the top side motor mount. How did u move it back into place to put the last bracket back on?
@@Missmechanic while i had the jack under it, it moves pretty easy to align it. If you are having issues pulling, you can use a pry bar and pry it back while lowering the jack.
I have a question how do we know it's time to change the gear mount it's coz when I shift the gear in D drive mode my car vibrates a lot .
You can look to see if there are any cracks or breaks in the rubber. Also, you can see how much the engine and transmission move when you have it in gear with your foot on the brake pedal then give it a little throttle. This will indicate that the mount is bad if there is excessive amounts of movement
This is what I have when in gear at light get vibration do you think first I should replace is torque strut. I would like to do that first as easier.
How difficult would it be if you didn't have that longer bolt when reinstalling the torque strut?
I would just get someone to put tension on the engine to move it towards the bolt hole while you start it. I just did not have any one to help me at the time.
@@operationoverhaul thanks I was able to just move the jack and shift the weight around and worked really well.
what kind of symtoms did you have to have to replace each. good video
The customer was having a clunking noise when they would go from reverse to drive and vice versa. Then when they would take off from a stop it would clunk as well.
@@operationoverhaul Interesting, I don't have that. I have vibration at idle at stop lights I can see hood bounce. I think if I put in park the vibrations lesson to almost nothing. I need to figure out which motor mount it may be? I looked at the one on top left which is super easy to get to on the 2016 nothinig in the way at all. That mount didnt look torn. I think there is one under the battery and the torque rod one.
@@DesignBuildFixReview i would look at the torque arm and the transmission mount.
Did u find out if it was your motor mount if so what one I'm having exact issue @@DesignBuildFixReview
@@spencerjohns8558 I have been kind of ignoring it, now that it's cooler out can do more. Lately the car has been idling a little rough even in park, nothing big just noticable. I already replaced the plugs and pc valve. Might need throttle cleaning. I bet that torque rod is easy and cheap to replace just to do.
What was the thread size of the longer bolt you used to pull engine close?
I cannot remember but I will look it up and get back to you
Do you know torque specs for those??
I'll get them for you when I get home this evening.
@operationoverhaul actually don't worry my fault I see the video and you say it there. Appreciated fam thank you for the content and God bless you and yours!
I have a 2016 kia soul base model when I go over bumps I feel and hear banging underneath my feet would you think the mount you just replaced is bad.
I would check that mount and check the control arm and sway bar links.
@operationoverhaul Ok Thank you.
@operationoverhaul sitting in park with the vehicle off and turning the wheel left and right I hear a noise I can barely feel in the steering wheel whould that be the sway bar bushing has gone bad.
@@jasonschannel1315 does it sound like a popping sound?
@operationoverhaul It's hard to say. It's when I turn the wheel back and forth as I mentioned before left and right I just hear like something banging together. That's why I figured it be the bushing that could of went bad then the sway bar just hitting back and forth is all I can figure
Does anyone know what size bolt to get for the mounts?
you want to know the thread size, the length, or the socket size?
The thread size
I put mine in up side down
Did it change the pitch of the engine or anything when you did that?
Brasil, muito bom vídeo, tenho um 2011.
