Do we need to personally go to the Japan visa centre ourselves for the appointment? Or can we send someone else to do the proxy for us? We live in the North East, so the visa centre for our state is in New Delhi. Also, do we need to give our biometric in the appointment itself?
For Japan biometric is not required. You can check with VFS global if they have any tie-up with Bluedart courier services in your region

In the VFS global website in the documents required section for japan visa nowhere its mentioned anything about NOC.
But when we spoke to VFS over call, they did ask for it. So if you think it's not needed you can skip it.

Bank statement 6 months, signed and stamped by the bank (try to keep it as close as your application date) and cover letter on a normal A4 page.

You should not have booked flight first. The only option is to call VFS and request for earlier appointment OR postpone your flight

Your application should be strong and finances should be good. Processing time is same for sticker visa in single and multiple entry and visa fee is also same. Recently Japan has also started e-visa for indians.

I work for a us based company as a video editor but i dont have any proof about it, like a salary slip or something, I am still kind of a self employed on paper. I get monthly salary in bank account and thats the only proof. What can i do in this situation ? how can i prove my source of income ? You can apply with the amount you have. No that event ticket won’t make sense in the documents

Yes recently Japan has announced that.. you can still apply sticker visa. The chances are fair, but rest depends on case to case.

Yes it is mandatory for sticker visa.
Question: Since I will be applying with Dummy ticket, what should I mention in visa application form, under airline section? As airline will change, once I actually book my ticket?
You mention the dummy ticket airline and it's okay to change airline. They don't care what flight you will be actually flying in. They care if you have a ticket in hand or not just to grant visa
From what I know, you can walk into the Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai directly for Visa.
That's not the case in Delhi, you need to go via vfs for sticker visa. And the good news is Japan has announced e-visa from 1st April 2024 for Indians, which is single entry and for 90 days.
If am a self-employed businessman, should I enclose my business documents like, (Trade Registration, GST, Labour License etc.)?
I would request to cross check these documents with VFS global as per your jurisdiction

You mentioned you only had 15 days in your hand. So dod u wait to Book your flight tickets till ur visa got approved and then did last minute flight bookings or you already had a flight booked? Because for the last moment flight bookings the rates go high most of the times.
We waited for the visa and we were also tracking the flight cost, the price did not fluctuate a lot

You can apply multi entry and show itinerary of 15 days and then once you get the visa you can use it as per allowed time frame like in one entry how long you can stay and then you will have to exit Japan and enter again

Better is to use the account which is most active and it should not affect anything even if you transfer it now. What they need is assurance of the funds. Just to make your case strong , use some investment proofs which are on your name.
