O and for wood planks use a stiff wire brush and brush the wood to get wood grain details which will show when you dry brush and wash

Also tip for the future thin your paint to a silky consistency for better coverage and use smaller brushes for finer control trust me I know from experience (I used to paint entire minis with the citadel base brush that came in the paint set ) I would use it to base and detail an entire mini cuz at the time I had no brushes yes I did extremely well (my minis are on display in a game shop cuz the owner really loved the paint job ) spite the fact I only used one brush but when I moved onto a cheep set of synthetic artist brushes i got at hobby lobby for $4 my minis have gotten way better to the point I enter them in international model contests yes it takes longer but the end result is worth it also nice build tho it’s a bit small for a catamaran more like a large pontoon boat

For a sail I would suggest a trick I learned from Ben from bp custom creations he took a brown bag cut to shape crinkled it up and covered it in super glue to harden it
