This performance just hits me in the soul. I had the pleasure of working for The Black Crowes from 1997-2006. Chris is one of the most amazing artists in this game. A genuine and generous human being. Chris is a true artist. His brain never rests. He's always thinking of new songs in his head. I love how he's playing guitar now and singing. I've seen him play guitar when he was just hanging out chilling and I always encouraged him to do that while in The Crowes but Rich didn't like it so he never did. Not a big Rich fan but I tolerated him cause I wanted to get paid. Chris lives to perform and lives the road life. Great guy he always made sure I was looked after. Sometimes when the tour ended he would talk to me for an hour. When the tour was over I'd go back to Canada but before I got on a flight Chris would talk to you and pull out like $2000 and puts it in my hand and would tell me how much he appreciates the work I put in. I worked his personal security. He needs a lot of protection because he loves to meet fans and talk to them but there are some fans we met that were right on the line of being weird and gave me stalker vibes.
God damn the people who know what this band is doing are loving life. This is some really great rock music roaming from town to town for all to enjoy. Don't miss this band. You'll leave happy.
I was lucky enough to be the guess list snd backstage when they performed all of his songs .It was The Lincoln Theater in Raleigh N.C That was about 5 years ago . All of them are really cool people. Damm great show .

Rock = total musical freedom. It's so diverse that it gives you the freedom to have taste. People just forget to have taste these days. Kids are too up their own generation's ass with shitty sub genres like metal and grunge and hair metal which lack any kind of soulfulness, range or dynamics in the vocals and a narrow vision of music. There's rarely any surprises. It's often dull and boring and monotonous. It's often screamo. Singing quietly in the verse, and the getting really fucking loud during the chorus is not clever, it's a lame, predictable formula. Real singing goes up and down in range and dynamics more than that. Real music isn't just soft or loud only, or slow or fast only. Real music is fuller than that. So much modern popular music doesn't even give you anything to like at all which makes me wonder why so many people like it. You can like AC/DC and The Eagles. It's okay. You can like funk or soul or you can like southern rock, it's okay. You can like jazz, it's okay. You can like the blues and punk, it's okay. You can like piano, acoustic instruments, percussion, it's okay. You can like metal and linda ronstadt, it's okay. You shouldn't be locked into one sub genre of music as a listener or as an artist. That makes music suck balls. Fucking surprise me.
