The song is absolutely gorgeous, her voice angelic, but the MV though, such a masterpiece. The acting from both IU and V is top-notch. The first few times I watched this, I couldn't even read the lyrics. I was so mesmerized by the acting and the story.
IU and V are good friends. They sound beautiful together too. They sang "Ending Scene" on her talkshow, and the blend of her clear piercing voice and his smooth deep baritone is heavenly.
IU and Suga are great friends for longer. They've collaborated twice so far. The first is her song "eight", where he featured, co-wrote, and produced. The second is his song "People Pt. 2".
V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😭😭😭❤❤
Taehyung worked so hard, he did multiple projects in a day until 2-3 days before his enlistment he made sure that whenever we miss him we have something from him to watch and thanks to iu now this iutv is literally my comfort video lol their friendship is so precious 💜 you should checkout the behind the scenes of love wins all
IU debuted at the age of 15 in 2008 and has since become a singer-songwriter and actress who receives absolute love from all Koreans
Here's everything you might have missed:
1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. IU uses sign language at the dinner table.
2) The cube (the director said it is called "nemo") represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities or those who are simply different (often considered as misfits) thus eliminating them. (the pile of clothes: The pile of clothes also reminds you of BTS "Spring day"MV which also features it)
3) The cam-recorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them.
4) The scene where they are at the restaurant and the scene where she is on stage singing in her wedding dress, you can see how the people around covered in black are all pointing their fingers at Tae and IU (represents how harshly the world judges them especially in their happy moments)
5) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love.
6) IU taps three times during the scene where he grabs her hand tightly which translates to "I love you" in sign language.

IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😢😢When IU sings, there are people dressed in black clothes in the crowd who are not congratulating them, but pointing fingers at them. This scene shows that even in a world overflowing with hate, love is enough to win

she's a soloist, debuted in 2008, and start from 2010 - now she release at least like 30+ (THIRTY) number 1 songs in S.Korea chart. You can safely say that at least half of active young kpop idols right now are her fans, bcs they growing up watching iu in TV ...
for rough comparison, you can say she's S.Korea's version of Taylor Swift, but with excellent acting skill, and with less love drama ;p

Here is some extra info about the music video... Director Um Tae Hwa released a guide explaining the MV and gave 4 Key points.
First, the "cube" signified the discrimination and oppression that are prevalent in the daily lives of the main characters.
Second, the "camcorder" represents the "lens of love," an important "device" that allows us to look at the beautiful things in the world beyond the internal or external appearance of the characters.
Third, IU and BTS V became the main characters in a "survival story of a dystopian worldview of someone who cannot speak and sees the world only through his left eye." Despite the difficulty, feeling hurt and exhausted, they relied on each other despite "cube" and tried to overcome it in the end.
Fourth and last, the "wedding dress and tuxedo" symbolize the "fruit of love." At the end where their clothes are seen rising in the air in the camera, it depicts that they are finally "free to fly away from all kinds of oppression and pressure."

I am overwhelmed by a myriad of emotions. I'll just say...wow...stospheric both...wow...actors should be grateful taehyung chose music as his main career HE SO AMAZING The singular tear falling down Taehyung’s cheek as he accepts his fate. Taehyung is such a powerful actor and able to emote feelings of fear and acceptance all in one scene without a single dialogue❤❤❤
If you check out the making of video, you'll find that the 'vaseline smear/dreamy haze' is actually a freezing winter wind. 😱
V acting : i m speechless ,multitalented artist and IU voice is amazing ❤
This is the song of the minute for sure. IU is like the Delta Goodrem or Kylie Minogue of South Korea with a bit more music cred and a bit less pop than those two- like everyone loves her - she's like the nation's favourite, and she crosses over from music into film and tv acting. She writes most of her own stuff.
Suga already work together with IU twice. Suga and IU is same age friend, and they have been know each other for a long time ago. People only know they are friend only recently when IU asked Suga to b e producer in one of her song in 2020 titled "Eight". And then Suga asked IU featuring in one of Suga song on his recent album D-day, title "people pt 2". IU become acquaintance with V after he being a guest in one of IU talkshow podcast, 'palette". Suga and Jhope also appeared as a guest on IU talkshow. IU also coming as a guest in Suga talkshow too.
IU and Ttaehyung 's close friendship goes way back ,well before his appearance on her Palette last year.Fact.
Amazing acting, amazing song, and amazing vocals. The cube is supposed to represent society and the lack of acceptance for marginalized people. iU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. When they look through the viewfinder they can see themselves as normal. Amazing award winning director was used. He won best director for Concrete Utopia. He has worked with IU before. IU asked V and managed to squeeze in the filming a week before he enlisted. That makes his acting even more amazing.
This song is sooo pretty and the MV really isn't what you'd first expect to pair with it but it fits really well. It reminds me of a mix between Black Mirror and A Quiet Place. I can't tell if the cubes are alien or a human invention that went horribly wrong but I love their choice to use that as an antagonist in this world they created.
IU is pretty beloved by most people who know of her (considered to be Korea's little sister since she debuted quite young). It's always so nice when she has content with our BTS guys. I've only listened to a couple of her songs but they were all beautiful even if it's not my go-to genre. Her talent is undenible imo.
Taehyung, Yoongi and Hobi all appeared on her RUclips series (IU's Palette). Plus IU appeared on Suga's RUclips series too and she's collabed with him on 2 songs so far. Now we get this surprise acting role from Tae in this. We miss them all a bunch so it's been nice to get surprise gifts like this. Our guys have been so sneaky hiding so many little fun things for us to enjoy.

While BTS is my favorite korean male artists, IU is my favorite female artist. She has been in the entertainment industry since 2007 as trainee & debut the year after when she's 15. Not only she's a solo singer, she's also songwriter, composer & great actress. Similarities I found between her & BTS - passion, hardworking, humble, empathic, self-reflective, caring. I love her being quite blunt sometimes! XD Her voice is just so beautiful. But we have to remember behind her bright smile, she faced sooooo much struggles/hardship throughout her life/career. I mean in Korea being a female artist/actress is never easy, 16 years in the industry is already big enough for us to respect her.
