I don't understand the college admissions scandal being a scandal! Rich ppl have always done whatever they could to get their kids in the best schools. They've been "donating" libraries and equipment since forever!
Sure but this went about 10,000 steps past 'here's a donation, wink wink, nudge, nudge. By the way, isn't my grandkid a great prospect for the school'. They were straight up bribing officials to change test scores, paying coaches to lie about made up athletic achievements, falsifying documents and records, etc. Not to mention they didn't donate directly to the school, they funnelled the money through a made up charity, essentially getting a tax break on their fraud and keeping it hidden. It's why a bunch of them got hit with money laundering charges as well.
It wasn't "donation" this time. It was straight-up money laundering, false bank accounts, tax breaks for themselves, changing their kids' test scores, and falsifying documents. That is why it was very different than "donating" some bullshit to a collage.
Tbh I feel the school should be held more accountable since it's the school who actually accepts and takes the bribe and not the person suggesting. The person suggesting the bribe only does whatever it takes to get their kid into school. If more people had that money they would do it too. I can never watch Head of the class anymore and think Dennis was a poor nerdy character. Now watching him sit all isolated in the back of the classroom makes him seem so creepy now. He was probably plotting his move to Nickelodeon.
A lot of these scandals to me were no big deal. We ban you from such and such for life because you sucked and did not play nice with the other actors. We found the exact details why somebody was replaced is not really that big of a deal. I would demand my money or some type of compensation. Just because they cancel the show does not mean they are responsible for paying the money.
Think it's a shame Buffy/Angel fans can't see the show the same way anymore, call me insensitive but I don't think you should allow the truth of what went on to affect your enjoyment of what is still today and excellent show with amazing actors, their work shouldn't be maligned over the actions of another, you can still champion them.
Of course you can still watch it BUT you have to admit that even escapist movies and shows can be affected by reality. Such as watching PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE & he jokes about not wanting us to see his naked eyes or THE NAKED GUN with O.J. investigating murders 😹

The Shane Gillis one was absolutely stupid. They made a major scene to 5 years later have Shane on as a guest host. Having him in almost every sketch. And Bowon Yang practically stuck up his A**. Even though 5 years earlier he was the one pushing for his firing.

Because they were wrong. Nothing he said was offensive.
A lot of these scandals to me were no big deal. We ban you from such and such for life because you sucked and did not play nice with the other actors. We found the exact details why somebody was replaced is not really that big of a deal. I would demand my money or some type of compensation. Just because they cancel the show does not mean they are responsible for paying the money.

Think it's a shame Buffy/Angel fans can't see the show the same way anymore, call me insensitive but I don't think you should allow the truth of what went on to affect your enjoyment of what is still today and excellent show with amazing actors, their work shouldn't be maligned over the actions of another, you can still champion them.
