I really wish we got corn with this pack. Corn - at least in my state- is a very native american staple. You could use corn for bio-fuel, chili recipes, and lots of other things. Also, it looks sick when it grows.

I honestly don't think the dust system is necessary for this let's play. it feels like a distraction and there are already enough challenges as it is to make the let's play fun and engaging. that being said, I am loving the series so far and can't wait to see what Lady and Flame get up to next!
I think once Lady is more established, Sandalwood could join her. Maybe he could handle the farming side of things (planting, making nectar, etc) while Lady handles the horse stuff like competitions and jobs.
Sooo excited for this series, I'm doing similar challenges on my ranch! I vote no dust but yes manual laundry. Maaaybe if you could sweep the dust, but having an electric vacuum doesn't fit as well.
You DEFINITELY make the best rags to riches series!!! I tried to watch one the other day from a different RUclipsr, and was NOT impressed. Not only did they start out with a customized horse from CAS (with good traits), they also started out in the 64x64 lot AND built a stable(with trough) for the horse, and planted extra prairie grass too. They also used the tiny home lot feature to gain skills faster, and didn’t use any lot challenges to make it more difficult. I was like “and this is rags to riches…how?” I LOVE that you start out with just your (person) sim, buy a small lot, and add challenges to make it even more difficult. It’s SO much more fun to watch that way - I do the same when I play rags to riches, and count anything more as ‘cheating’. So, thanks for being you, and being true to the rags to riches challenge!!! ❤️
No power, no water, no money, a horse, and "I want to get a dog."😆 I wonder if the introduction of the prairie grass will lead to a lawn care pack!Got 2,500 simoleons for doing nothing and didn't buy a toilet! or a fridge!
Ranches are classically pretty dusty, so I say leave the dust! And adding laundry would be great. Lady never had struggle for anything growing up, now she has to struggle for EVERYTHING!
Flame is a dappled bay. For a quick run down of horse genetics: - Black and Red are the "base colors". Red (aka Chestnut) is the recessive to Black. There are many different shades of Red (ex: liver chestnut, which looks like dark chocolate). - Agouti is what makes a black horse a Bay, by "shoving" the black to the extremities. Chestnuts can be carriers, but it won't show physically. A Wild Bay is when the black on the legs goes past the knees. - Cream is what lightens a horse - mane, tail, and body. This is how you get Palomino and Buckskin. - White horses are either the result of a homogenous Cream gene or a Grey gene. The "double cream" will result in a horse that is born with the white coat, while horses with the grey gene will turn white (or grey) as they get older. - Dappling is caused by a "variation of red and black in the hair shafts". It is most visible in grey horses, because the 'red' is white. - "Tobiano" is when a painted horse's white markings cross over their back. "Overo" is when a painted horse's white markings don't. "Sabino" is when a horse has white socks/stockings and a white blaze on it's face. "Splashed" is when a horse looks like it walked through a pool of paint (so, all up it's legs and on it's belly). "Leopard Appaloosa" makes a horse look like a Dalmatian. "Blanket Appaloosa" is when only the butt (and maybe some back) is white. - Roan is a gene that mixes in white hairs, lightening the "middle" of the horse. This results in Strawberry Roan, Blue Roan, and Bay Roan. - Dun is also a gene that lightens the middle of the horse, but not by mixing in white hairs. As a weird genealogical throwback, this also gives them dorsal stripe and subtle stripes on their legs. This results in Dun (on a bay), Red Dun (on a chestnut), and Grullo/Grulla (on black). - Flaxen is a gene that lightens the mane/tail of a chestnut. Silver is a gene that does the same for blacks and bays. In neither case does the body of the horse lighten.
35:11 There is a wonderful functional broom mod, which allows you to clean even off-the-grid. I love using it along with this challenge and in rather poor households
Favorite new lets play - loving this so much! Don’t forget the mini goats and sheep!!! And cows and chickens 😊 dust is either or for me but yes to the wash tub and clothing line!
If you think the horses are cute, wait until you see miniature sheep doing their little leap run or pawing at your legs. Almost went into adorable-overload first time I saw it. You also absolutely need to have a miniature goat play dead. It's hilarious.
Loving the series so far already! I'd say turn off the dust and bring on the laundry - since BtD didn't come with a 'rustic' version of cleaning (broom / mop), but laundry does have the handwash basin and clothes line, it would definitely fit in better while adding a household chore to keep up with. But if it does become too much, focus on the ranch stuff instead xD it can get pretty tedious considering how long things take to do in the sims!
Realistically the dust would the dust would come with the territory of living in the areas so keep the dust. The line and bucket for laundry would be fun but chaotic. And yes I think a beagle or a blue heeled would be ideal. Especially the blue heeler for when you get the sheep and such.
Absolutely loving this LP! It’s also super fun how excited you are! In regards to pack stuff it’s understandable to turn off the dust pack cause of how annoying it can become.
