    Listen to this man. Learning the bare minimum of this integral mechanic helped me reach past 5k. It's that important.

    9:50 -- this is so important for support players. As a position 1 main, when my supports are trying to harrass and absolutely fuck my wave equilibrium causing me to lose 1-3 last hits, this annoys me so much. 1-3 last hits may not seem that big of a deal, but if they do this every time a new wave spawns, that adds up very quickly. Although supports do not actually utilize creep aggro to manipulate wave position, it's still important to understand so you are not accidentally griefing your cores. Great vid as always Zach!

      Ello, immo player here (not that high tho), but u can also prevent this by pulling the lane creeps on the opposite side of your support. That way your support can freely harass enemy hero w/o being in the acquisition range of the creeps.
      For instance, on safelane radiant side. Your support choose to harass on the left side of the lane (tree line, not on the actual lane), you can pull the creeps towards the right side (towards the watcher/but not on watcher itself 😂). Normally, the creeps would be on the middle of the lane as you can see in the video, but if you did it correctly, the creeps’ position will supposedly on the right side of the lane.

    wow! after over 2 decades of playing DotA I actually noticed these things unconsciously. I never actually looked at the distances like you did with the console, but I just automatically know. I think Luna spamming helped as her range an be rough to master and you are constantly just trying to get close enough. It's hard to kite melee heroes with Luna but it can be done for me it's an unconscious skill. I will be running and turning around attacking real quick and just start going quick enough to avoid a strike.

    As always thanks for the great vid. Very interested in this topic. Would be nice to have some replay analysis showing some practical application of these concepts as it is pretty confusing, and maybe a staged scenario showing best case scenario of how you can reset lane equilibrium applying this info.

    8:12 im not 100% sure, but i think if you attack the creep, you also reaggro all the creeps nearby that were following you, if you let them hit you, only the creeps that hit you will keep the aggro to you

      I would just watch high ranked pubs to see it in action and witness different applications. I think this is kindof a strange topic for ZQuixotix to cover, because its really more cores that manip creep aggro, and ZQ is a support main. supports can pull aggro in lane but only really if their core is clueless, otherwise they only really deal with it as a side effect of harassing or managing pulls.
      its also sort of hero/matchup dependent so even if he show you examples from a real pub, it might not actually apply to your heroes or situation.

    • @randyselimi3562
      @randyselimi3562 Год назад

      @@auto1nfanticid3 Another time it can be relevant for support to pull aggro is if they are more the durable hero and their core cannot walk up to do it themselves. If I am treant and my core is drow, I can pull melee to ranged and tank hits so my drow can sit back and last hit. It's situational though

    • @宋延杰
      @宋延杰 Год назад

      @@auto1nfanticid3 It's also important for supports because most supports need to harass enemy team's core via right clicking. You need to avoid drawing creep aggro as much as possible, or it will be a hard time for your core.

    @zquixotix Can you do a video of improving creep last hitting? Like the number of hits taken to hit a ranged/melee/siege creep and any other tips around it.
    (For others who are gonna comment to practice bots - practicing the same wrong thing over and over again will just make the mistake permanent.)
