I found it to be totally believable.
Also when Jack said a word that
people had not heard of, about the
fix for the grinding stone.
The part hadn't been invented yet.
I also feel that Jack knew a dog
would be sent to him as a sign he
must return to his own time.
Possibly Jack was screaming
because he didn't want to go back.
He could have been afraid of something
in that time.
The part about the dog moving his paw,
then Jack knew it was time.
Jack wanted to take one last look
at his house.
There were no tracks, from Jack or the
dog. Because they didn't belong in that
time period.
I agree with the sheriff about keeping
quiet.

That's around the same time frames,as my great grandfather, Jack Turner, he was all round,these mountains,stayed in the mountains,as he got okder,settled in Swannanoa up on the mountain side,used to have to drive through the creek just to get to his house,might never know who
it was ,
This story has caused chills to pass through me. as no other has. Perhaps it is a sign that I have a long past connection to that area. I have long felt a connection with that part of the country as I feel more comfortable and drawn to those hills and hollers. I have only been around the 'Smokes" twice that I know of. I do greatly enjoy these stories,,,,,keep them coming. Perhaps in a past life, I lived there. Could I have been o;d Jack?

Yes, this is a strange and interesting story. I have heard two stories about people that disappeared around here (both men were unable to walk). Both stories were many years apart and sounded almost the same (so, I thought they never really happened). I just learned last Summer that we live in the area of Kentucky that some call the "Kentucky Bermuda Triangle." Yes, I have seen and heard some strange things here in my life.

Poor Jack, a good person like he was didn't deserve to be deviled like that; I don't like being made afraid and it's been done a lot to me by those I called family...until they didn't deserve such a loving title.
Poor old Jack, I'll pray for him and hold him in my heart so Jesus will get him away from that dog thing and take him home.

@@JaredKingTV Several years ago I was diagnosed with Sjogrens (show-grĕns) Disease that attacks the face internally and among many things, it prevents tears. I've learned there is no emotional release or comfort from dry crying. Tonight Jared I read two replies you left to my comments. First was about dark souls can do good kind things by others and your words were a physical feeling of a hug to my soul that I quietly sat and enjoyed.
Then I read your reply to my remark about poor old Jack vanishing along with that devil dog.
Again I felt comforted by your words, a lovely connection between two folks; the sense of good company.
I sat back, eyes closed, enjoying a smile and prayer for Jack as a slow whirling fan brushed cool air over my face when suddenly there was more than air.....Tears Jared! Two Tracks of Tears streaming down my face and as I write this I've had to pause as tears welling up made it so I can't see until they washed over my face like the first! Even my old cat Toby, soon to be 18yo that I've had from 2 weeks old as a rescue, who was asleep sensed something special, woke up - mind you, I make no sound when I cry - and came over to snuggle and share his special brand of loving comfort.
Thank you Jared for sharing mountain medicine, the kind that begins with, "God Willing" and is ever so delightfully mysterious because you did not know about my affliction but you wrote, "God bless you Kinfolk" ... and he did🙏
Equally loving is I don't feel the weight of him in my heart anymore and truly believe Jared that your prayed words brought the tears that cleansed old Jack, freeing him homeward bound with Jesus.
As for that devil dog, I believe all dogs know to fear the swipe of a cat's claw across their nose so as Jack was glory bound on prayer tears with Jesus, that old dog saw Toby flexing his paws and claws on his lovely blankie next to me and swiftly went from whence he came!
Thank you Jared for your loving heart that reaches others through time and distance bringing health and healing with soulful prayers.
