    I love your playthrough of these games! :) So I’m happy it’s basically a series now 😄. For solo gaming I’ve been playing Legacy of Yu, quite difficult to win but very fun!

    I have had this for a while and finally learned all the expansions that come with it. Great game, it’s cool that it comes with a lot of different ways to play.

    Thank you for a great playthrough! I've been curious about the games from the Oniverse series and couldn't decide which one to start with. After watching this video I decided that Aerion would be my first grab and then yesterday I found one lonely copy in a board game store and brought it home. It was easy to set up and start right aways thanks to this video. I figured this game would be much harder after watching you play, but I had a very smooth first game actually! Can't wait to try out all the expansions now.

      Awww that's so great to hear! I'd love to hear which expansions are your favorite once you're able to play them

    I like this playthrough so much. Love the emotions. I don‘t know Aerion, but my first impression after watching this video is that it would probably help a lot to use the reserve better to your advantage. The right half of the cards is much harder to get (without doing the math, I guess 4 of a kind might be the hardest). So, if it happens you roll one of those harder combinations, just grab the respective card, put it into your reserve and use it as soon as you can (to make the reserve spot free for the next card).

    Thanks for the play through, Monique. This one looks to be a tough game to win!

    My favorite Oniverse game!
    The only big thing I can note is that you shouldn't ignore 'the ability to end your turn'. The way to end your turn is either gaining a card, or running out of cards to take. If you spend a card you could have taken for a reroll and it doesn't pay off, you're then forced to continue burning cards until you can take something.
    This can be seen at 33:33. You could have taken the AAAA card, but spent it as a reroll because you didn't need it. If you 'take' it by pushing it to its discard, ending turn, then replenishing active card, this means you can still do a full reroll, but keep the safety net of 'a card to spend on rerolls' from the AAAA deck.

    Thanks for the video Monique! I really enjoy the Oniverse series and playing Aerion! It is difficult and pretty tricky to win. I'm terrible at dice rolling too! The only way I have been able to win is to ask my husband to roll the dice for me, lol (he's great at getting the dice to do whatever he wants). I also collected the book cards pretty often to help with re-rolls. I have played all the games in this series including Cyberion, but excluding Stellarion I will play that soon, but you're right it does remind me of Aerion.

    Instead of going for the cards you need it is nice to stack the lower easier decks to hit with books so you can easily keep refilling the other rows with more books.

    Lots of great memories playing this game while my infant son napped (which wasn’t very often)

    I recommended this one many moons ago in a RUclips comment. I find I win the base game the majority of the time with 3 pixies. It's been a while since I've played this one and now I'm jonesing to bust it out again (maybe after I finish playing through the Imperium: Classics civilizations).

    Hello! Thank you very much for the video! Which tablecloth do you use to play?

  • @dhruvms

    Around the 33:00 mark you had a 1, 3, 4, 5. I think the chances of rolling one 2 from two dice are much higher than the chances of rolling one 2 and one 6 from three dice (2/3 vs 5/36 if my math is correct)

    • @BeforeYouPlay

      Ahh I think you're right! The pressure got to me haha

    • @rukbat3
      @rukbat3 Год назад

      But what are the chances of rolling a 2 and either a 1 or a 6 from three dice?

    • @dhruvms
      @dhruvms Год назад

      @@rukbat35/18?
      P(one die rolls 2) = 1/6
      P(one dice does not roll 1 or 6) = 4/6
      P(two die roll 1 or 6) = 1 - P(two die do not roll 1 or 6) = 1 - (4/6)² = 20/36
      P(three die roll one 2 and 1 or 6) = (1/6) * (20/36) * 3 = 5/18
      The last factor of 3 shows up because the three die are interchangeable. I think my math is correct but I'd love to have someone verify my calculations

    • @olivertremel9869
      @olivertremel9869 Год назад +1

      @@dhruvms Multiplying can‘t be correct. For the initial example (rolling a 2 with two dice rolls) chances are not 2*(1/3) but 1-(5/6)^2=11/36=approx. 30,6%
      (By multiplying you‘d get 100% probability for 6 rolls and even more than 100% if you roll more often than 6 times. Obviously, that‘s not true.)
      Same for your last calculation.

    This one is my favorite from the omniverse. I love them all but this one is great.

    My experience with the Oniverse titles, says that start playing the expansions sooner rather than later. Usually you find the true game in there some place. The expansions in a Shadi Torbey game feels just like pieces removed from the whole to make the beginning experince simpler to learn for new players, not necessarily to win, just learn. Some Oniverse game expansions make the base game easier, others harder, but almost all make the base game a bit more interesting.

    Love your playthrough, I can't win at this but watching you play, I may have been playing on a harder mode by accident. 😅 Great play! I wonder, does Naveen have any interest in doing a solo game himself?
