Dogs Need THIS Before Training - Socialize your DOG!

  • I really believe that socializing a dog is one of the most misunderstood things when it comes to dog ownership. I believe people make huge mistakes here in that they try to expose their dogs to too many people and STRANGE DOGS! This can stress a dog, especially a young puppy.
Carlos had some bad experiences so Doug reached out to me. The previous session we did with Carlos was at the park to see where his issues were. I found the biggest problem was that Doug was a bit nervous due to some previous bad experiences. He was holding the leash tight and his energy made Carlos nervous.
Be sure to check out all of my online dog training lessons here:

This video is a shortened part of the full 30 minute lesson that is available in my member only section.
In this video you'll see and hear me talking about what the right way is to meet other dogs and people in order to experience this in a positive way for the dog. Even though Carlos is not a puppy, the lessons contained in this lesson will prove very valuable for anyone socializing a dog or puppy of any age.

    Excellent.
Our 9 month old female Dobbie was introduced to patio and downtown walking from the get go.
We're doing our best with in store walking and exposure with our 4 month old male Dobbie, but it's winter up here in Ontario so patio season is currently dead lol
They still try to encite play every now again... puppies 😁

Having to keep a weather eye out for dog aggressive dogs is sadly part and parcel of walking these days. So many irresponsible owners about.

I just never let my dog meet the dogs on leash. My dog has been attacked on leash before and I just got sick of it.

My dog learned as a puppy that not all dogs are friendly when we go on walks so he himself decided to stop and look to me before approaching another dog so I can ask if it's friendly first if not I give the command to walk away

Nagging a dog is not a problem of frequency. It's a problem of strength of the correction. Poking a thousand times instead of ONE hard slap ONCE. It has to be a correction that is MEANINGFUL to the dog. The lack of that is NAGGING. You want a happy dog? Give it a MOMENT of EXTREME discomfort and clear communication instead of a lifetime of SLIGHT discomfort and confusing communication.
