I totally agree on Layton. I think the entire house is overhyped. I tried 7 of their most popular and talked about perfumes. All good, projecting, long lasting, even unique, nothing I disliked. But not good enough to convince me to spend the money on a full bottle. except for Sedly, which is the only one I ended up buying. I haven’t tried Ojan yet.

Exactly what Jeremiah said. I’ve been wearing M01 for years. Once your nose becomes acclimated to it you’ll smell it like you would any other fragrance.
When i first smelled DHI it smelled like makeup to me, but after a month i tried it again and it was different, ididnt smell any makeup or lipstick to it, it smelled like a hot cup of chocolate to me, and i think its nice. It's really subjective yeah
The reason why I feel Oajan should not replace Layton because Layton is more of an easy wear where as Oajan is not and easy everyday where and yes I own both.

Dior Homme Intense truly is one of the best men's scents ever released. F**ck the hype and reviews, I just LOVE how it smells. Also (to me) Cheeky Smile smells like a combination of Molecule 01 and Bal D'Afrique. Really nice stuff.

Damn just when I thought I could feel confident in letting CJ see my collection. This man talks about 4 out of 5 of my most suggested and complemented scents 🤦🏾♂️. I understand ppl overhyped things but sometimes that hype live up according to personal experiences 😂😂. Layton is 1 of my first niche fragrances. I tested it out @ work with an decant @ first, now I deliver fuel my guy. I worked 10+ hour, got to the yard, put diesel in my work truck, went to go sign off with the cashier and then it happen, she said "what's that smell" I was like you know I been out here with the Gas and Diesel. She was like no you smell good "what are you wearing" I was like you can still smell this I spray this b4 I came to work lol. Then I bought it the very next time I wore it a lady stop me in no pun City Gear lol with her husband, she Asked "What's that Cologne" an then ordered for him on spot. Then when 1 mill Lucky came out after getting countless compliments with the OG I blind bought it. I wore it to a club. So I'm sitting @ a Lil Table /Bar stool set-up across from some stairs. A young lady walks pass me starts to walk down the stairs then points @ me. She then turns around & comes back K9's me calls the group off girls she's with who looked very awkward when she asked them to smell me lol. They all agreed bout me smelling nice but not how she HYPE it up lmao. But I was invited to her crib after the club. With this being said these are my only over the top compliments to this date. I always get compliments with Dior Homme Intense and Noir Extreme that's why I suggest those too ppl. But I guess the reason why I don't necessary feel that these aren't overhyped, cause some many ppl I tell about them never heard of them. Like I'll be like 1 mill Lucky they'll be like the gold bottle then I'm like 🤦🏾♂️ their different lol. But only OG Dior Savage and maybe OG Chanel Bleu is overhyped to me because EVERYBODY has it and makes it the "end all be all"... sorry bout the long post 💯
Those who haven't given chance to DHI or don't like it, I respectfully feel sorry for them (although frags are subjective). DHI is a blessing to the olfactory senses. If I could keep 5 frags for life, DHI will be three (I've over 100 frags).
I learned to love Layton. At first I thought it smelled like Vicks Vaporub....still does at times, but not like that first smell....and it was a 4.2oz bottle blind buy. Lol
I'm 100% with you. Did not like it at first smell. But the drydown is so lovely and I fell in love. But I did have to be honest with people.. it is overrated in my opinion
however I like Layton so much, but I have not tried Oajan yet, so I can not say you are wrong, but maann, about the rest (except that of Barcelona house) I agree as hell, especially that Dior intense, I hate it and said to myself maybe I am wrong and something is wrong with my nose, but I tested it and asked several people, and all of them hate it, not even neutral, reviewers should tell people that is really tricky one but they act like it is like Sauvage and most people will like, no it's not. thanks for this nice topic and nice review.
You know what. I'm subbed. We need different opinions instead of the same lists. Now, don't get me wrong, there's something to that. Some just work, but it's always good to know what an alternative is especially when you go to try it & you don't like it like everyone else.

As much as I like Oajan (beautiful scent) I’d still recommend Layton over it all day because 90% of my friends who only know Eros, Sauvage, ADG, etc. loose it over Layton! It’s the most appealing. TBH they could really care less about Oajan. Habdan is probably my favorite PDM, but that’s just my style. Reminds me of Noir Extreme

Fragrance is so subjective I would think more people would like Layton even though I prefer amber tabac so that pdm counter part would be for me. Actually exclusif would be the one for me that is 🔥

Great video! Layton is overhyped. Not bad but has a designer vibe with not a lot of note much note development ... like Aventus Cologne without the opening. El Born is amazing when you first sample but has this incense vanilla (Playdough) vibe that eventually turns me off. Molecule 01... no thanks. Totally agree with you on most of these. Never did get what it was about Layton besides hype, Oajan and Nisean are way better for an introductory into niche fragrances. One million luck is more clubbing fragrance, Prive way better for date night for sure. As for Molecule 01, over hyped but can live up to the hype for some if their nose is given the chance to adapted. Overall great, interesting review brother!!!

I thought my nose was not working because I just didn't see the hype. And yesss! I don't want to smell like lipstick!! I felt the same way when I first smelled layton.. I was like wtf is everyone talking about. But when the fragrance dried down I completely fell in love .. I can understand how you may not want to smell like a dessert but some of those fragrancess aren't too photorealistic. It just reminds you of those desserts, plus when women start telling you that you smell so delicious it may change your mind lol
Yea I got tired of Layton real quick. Got a great deal on it. Have a 120ml. It's good quality I just think it tries to be too many things. Is it a date night seductive cardamom scent? Is it a shower gel ambroxin bomb? Is it a Fruity Chypre? It plays with all these genres but never fully commits. You would think this swiss army knife approach would be great for a guy who just wants one bottle for all his needs, but it has a really strong dark musk note(my favorite part)that's polarizing to your average person. That combined with the amber can come off really funky if your skin chemistry doesn't suit it. I would Trade mine for Carlisle in a heartbeat if I could if anyone is interested in a swap.

I tried a sample of Layton because people talk about it so much. I figured it would blow my balls off! It’s alight, nice and warm. I’d say save your money and get Spicebomb Extreme. Just as nice, warm and spicy and 1/3 the price.
How could I forget....For me another one is Black Phantom....to me it’s very meh....but it gets compliments, my wife loves it...and I always get that steer down when I pass ladies wearing it. But to me....it’s ranked after straight to heaven, back to black, single malt, sacred wood then black phantom......still going be in my collection for the magic it works though.

JusBox Cheeky Smile is way overpriced at $225 vs Molecule 01 $130. It smells like champagne in the opening and the dry down is kind of similar to Molecule 02. It has poor performance I get about 1-2 hours vs the 8 hours from Molecule 01.

Layton is more versatile and does a good job mixing two different scent profiles with the vicks opening giving off that invigorating fresh vibe first followed by the apple/vanilla mid and dry down.

A couple weeks before I quit for another job, one of my co-workers leaned close and took a sniff and yelled while laughing "so you're the one!!!...do you know how long we've been trying to figure out what smelled so good around here!!??" This scent is an apparition that flutters and haunts the ladies in my experience!! :D

Those who haven't given chance to DHI or don't like it, I respectfully feel sorry for them (although frags are subjective). DHI is a blessing to the olfactory senses. If I could keep 5 frags for life, DHI will be three (I've over 100 frags).
I like DHI but, TF Noir Extreme, is waaaaaay better.
I learned to love Layton. At first I thought it smelled like Vicks Vaporub....still does at times, but not like that first smell....and it was a 4.2oz bottle blind buy. Lol
I'm 100% with you. Did not like it at first smell. But the drydown is so lovely and I fell in love. But I did have to be honest with people.. it is overrated in my opinion

however I like Layton so much, but I have not tried Oajan yet, so I can not say you are wrong, but maann, about the rest (except that of Barcelona house) I agree as hell, especially that Dior intense, I hate it and said to myself maybe I am wrong and something is wrong with my nose, but I tested it and asked several people, and all of them hate it, not even neutral, reviewers should tell people that is really tricky one but they act like it is like Sauvage and most people will like, no it's not. thanks for this nice topic and nice review.

You know what. I'm subbed. We need different opinions instead of the same lists. Now, don't get me wrong, there's something to that. Some just work, but it's always good to know what an alternative is especially when you go to try it & you don't like it like everyone else.

As much as I like Oajan (beautiful scent) I’d still recommend Layton over it all day because 90% of my friends who only know Eros, Sauvage, ADG, etc. loose it over Layton! It’s the most appealing. TBH they could really care less about Oajan. Habdan is probably my favorite PDM, but that’s just my style. Reminds me of Noir Extreme

@@CjcityTv I just got Layton, I own amber tabac, that put me on to niche, maybe because I love the smell of my dad's pipe tobacco. Fragrance is so subjective I would think more people would like Layton even though I prefer amber tabac so that pdm counter part would be for me. Actually exclusif would be the one for me that is 🔥

Great video! Layton is overhyped. Not bad but has a designer vibe with not a lot of note much note development ... like Aventus Cologne without the opening. El Born is amazing when you first sample but has this incense vanilla (Playdough) vibe that eventually turns me off. Molecule 01... no thanks. Totally agree with you on most of these. Never did get what it was about Layton besides hype, Oajan and Nisean are way better for an introductory into niche fragrances. One million luck is more clubbing fragrance, Prive way better for date night for sure. As for Molecule 01, over hyped but can live up to the hype for some if their nose is given the chance to adapted. Overall great, interesting review brother!!!

I absolutely liked this take on fragrance videos. A lot of us are new to this hobby and are going to make a lot of mis steps . I applaud you for making this video. Layton!! I thought my nose was not working because I just didn't see the hype. And yesss! I don't want to smell like lipstick!! Im so with you on this ..but you pivoted from smelling like lipstick to smelling like dessert ... I don't want to smell like dessert either☺️ . Stay well and keep smelling fresh✌🏽
I felt the same way when I first smelled layton.. I was like wtf is everyone talking about. But when the fragrance dried down I completely fell in love .. I can understand how you may not want to smell like a dessert but some of those fragrancess aren't too photorealistic. It just reminds you of those desserts, plus when women start telling you that you smell so delicious it may change your mind lol
I get your point with Molecule 01, but I’ve gotten mad compliments with that stuff. Not crazy compliments but just the type that say “you smell nice”.

Yea I got tired of Layton real quick. Got a great deal on it. Have a 120ml. It's good quality I just think it tries to be too many things. Is it a date night seductive cardamom scent? Is it a shower gel ambroxin bomb? Is it a Fruity Chypre? It plays with all these genres but never fully commits. You would think this swiss army knife approach would be great for a guy who just wants one bottle for all his needs, but it has a really strong dark musk note(my favorite part)that's polarizing to your average person. That combined with the amber can come off really funky if your skin chemistry doesn't suit it. I would Trade mine for Carlisle in a heartbeat if I could if anyone is interested in a swap.

I think it lives up to the hype as far as smell n longevity! Disagree with Molecule 01 Being overrated.. “I Own Full Bottle” Molecule is a Banger + Compliment Monster.. Think it’s a must have for any man.. Never smelled any of the others, but I hear u talk about Tardès alot so im gonna make sure I get my nose on that soon! I tried a sample of Layton because people talk about it so much. I figured it would blow my balls off! It’s alight, nice and warm. I’d say save your money and get Spicebomb Extreme. Just as nice, warm and spicy and 1/3 the price.
Instead of Layton I think Greenley would be a fantastic introduction to pdm classy fresh scent.
How could I forget....For me another one is Black Phantom....to me it’s very meh....but it gets compliments, my wife loves it...and I always get that steer down when I pass ladies wearing it. But to me....it’s ranked after straight to heaven, back to black, single malt, sacred wood then black phantom......still going be in my collection for the magic it works though.

Have to agree with you on layton it was one of my first niche fragrances bought blind and to me it was OK but I was disappointed I think its the cardamom comes across dry and have had zero comments my girlfriend hates it. Yep and Dior I'm glad I got a sample and yes Tom Ford is stunning and very seductive, you have nailed this video 👍

JusBox Cheeky Smile is way overpriced at $225 vs Molecule 01 $130. It smells like champagne in the opening and the dry down is kind of similar to Molecule 02. It has poor performance I get about 1-2 hours vs the 8 hours from Molecule 01.

@@CjcityTv 😂 it smell too similar to a rich freshly baked apple pie imo. To the nose it’s nice but almost like a room scent. Layton is more versatile and does a good job mixing two different scent profiles with the vicks opening giving off that invigorating fresh vibe first followed by the apple/vanilla mid and dry down.

I think I may have an older one. I got the decant like 3 years ago. It smell good. Its just over rated to me because people make it seem like it's the best vanilla fragrances out or it's the best carner barcelona

I work in healthcare so I'm technically not supposed to wear fragrances but, EEYYYYY!!! lol My previous job, I wore Molecule 01 a lot and apparently for months....people were trying to figure out what smelled so good here and there. A couple weeks before I quit for another job, one of my co-workers leaned close and took a sniff and yelled while laughing "so you're the one!!!...do you know how long we've been trying to figure out what smelled so good around here!!??" This scent is an apparition that flutters and haunts the ladies in my experience!! :D

I was a traveling trainer and on the end of all class surveys I would get 2 comments minimum on how good i smelled all the time. It legit made the women go crazy. LOL If your nose can smell it, it's an amazing scent!
