    In '98, they played at the Church in Philly and ended up staying at my apartment. They also got to listen to my girlfriend breakup with me and start to move her stuff out. Breakfast was awkward.

    Dang! That guitar guy was able to make it sound like there are two guitarists in there. He strums hard to accent subdivisions while his fretting hand is doing melodic patterns. How was he even able to pull off that technique back then? Simply genius.

    This drummer gets slept on. His right hand has some crazy endurance, he holds double time on the cymbals through most their songs

    Just discovered these guys on Spotify. I already liked a lot of other D.C. bands like Fugazi & Jawbox (& anything else J. Robbins has done since) but WOW, did I ever miss out on these guys! FANTASTIC BAND!

    I used to go to a lot of shows at the Black Cat and 9:30 Club back then, but I never knew anything about Faraquet. I saw a lot of fantastic bands in my years in DC, but obviously I missed a lot too. Thank you for sharing this here.

      @@bodybydada The 11/28/99 show was with Rainer Maria and was on the main stage. It was a Sunday and I have the flyer. If this footage is from the backstage, maybe it's from the show on 10/6/99 with Two Dollar Guitar? That was backstage.

    How I never heard of Faraquet before is a mystery to me, I grew up in the DC region & thought I knew about its better & more interesting groups in my lifetime. This is very tasty stuff. A little Leo Kottke influence to my ear, maybe it's an homage to Takoma Records & John Fahey.
