- Hello everyone,
When I was a kid, my dad told me about the reduction of manpower in traditional trades due to the industrialization and modernization of Japanese society. Traditional products started to become outdated and forgotten. #bamboowork #bamboobasket #basketweaving
However, there are still many people who spend their entire careers carrying on the tradition of bamboo crafts. We want to honor them as much as we can. So, I decided to create a series of video shows about these artisans and their work using footage from my friends and myself.
Today's video will be particularly captivating because I have edited the script, rewritten the content, added new effects, new music, and new footage to create a new presentation: "Ancient Technology of Making Beppu Bamboo Crafts - Incredible Bamboo Woodworking Skills."
This time, our main character is Shimizu Takayuki from Osaka Prefecture.
Shimizu Takayuki was born in 1979 in Osaka Prefecture. Since childhood, he enjoyed crafting and drawing, finding joy in shaping his imaginative ideas. Growing up in Osaka, he attended a local school. During his student life, he visited Southeast Asia and India, where he was inspired by the various bamboo products of each country, gradually being drawn to the charm of bamboo. Upon returning to Japan, he discovered Beppu bamboo and decided to become a craftsman in Beppu bamboo after graduating from university. He trained at a bamboo school in Beppu and became a disciple of traditional craftsman Morigami Hitoshi, honing his skills. Since then, he has been diligently studying to learn more advanced techniques in bamboo woodworking.

Hi Folks,
Shimizu Takayuki born in 1979, Osaka Prefecture Since he was a child, he liked drawing crafts and drawing, and it was fun to shape what he imagined in his head.

the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
Shimizu is such a beautiful person and his work is equally.

I will never see a hand made bamboo basket quite the same ever again.
Now I appreciate the amount of work that goes into one, if ever I see one (and I have seen a few, sadly in second hand shops going for a few cents) I will be snapping it up.
