As soon as I saw people flop on their side when they couldn’t unclip I knew I was out 😂

I grew up riding clipless and have been riding flats on my enduro bike to develop some skills. A beginner rider should ride whatever they’re more comfortable with. My girlfriend has recently gotten into mountain biking, and since she was used to clipless on her gravel bike, that was most natural for her on the mtb too. There are advantages and disadvantages to each. I’ve improved my jumping and cornering abilities by practicing with flats, and for shorter casual rides or skills parks and jump lines, flats are perfect. Riding long hours or doing a lot of steep, technical climbing, there are some clear advantages to clipless. I like being able to pick and choose flats or clips depending on the ride I’m going to do, but it’s by no means necessary to do both. Not to mention it’s another $200+ you’ll have to spend on a second pair of shoes and pedals.

That sums it up perfectly! 👍It's up to the rider wether they choose clipless, flats or switch back and fourth! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! 🤙

Good stuff man! I ride flats as well. I’ve seen my buddies just fall over and couldn’t unclip. I don’t want to worry about that 😂

Exactly! 😂 That's the main reason I steer clear of flats! Thanks for watching! 🤙

@@Trails_trout agreed! When you know you got the skills, sometimes all that's left to do is send it! 👍

Have u ridden 29ers or have u always ridden 27.5? I agree with a lot of what u say. I went from a 26" to a 29er. I am so stoked in every upgrade mtn biking has done from my old 26er to my 29er. 1X ; dropper posts; tubless tires; wider handlebars. I've been riding my 29er for 1&1/2 years now and I pulled out my 26er for a friend to ride and it looked so alien to me and I totally wondered how I rode that. Dig ur videos because ur somewhat local to me. Come check out the Wissahickon in Philadelphia. Read Edgar Allan Poes description of the place. It's still a hidden jewel within the city. I don't live there anymore but it always amazed me when I would talk to a life long Philadelphia resident and they had never been or hadn't even heard of The Wissahickon. The Wicked Wiss. Did u ride BMX?

Glad to hear you're enjoying our videos! I had a Walmart BMX as a kid, and rode anything with wheels, but I was mostly a skateboarder. Didn't really get into bikes until my early 20s! I had a full suspension 29er before my current 27.5 bike and it was alright, but I really like the smaller wheels! I've had some old school 26 inch mountain bikes and it's hard to believe they were the standard at one point! Super twitchy and sketchy. 😳 Mountain bikes have come such a long way! And the Wiss is definitely on our list of places to explore! It was nice hearing from you! Thank you for watching our videos! 😁🤙
