I used to own an original blumo and I was always amazed at how comfortable it was for such a large and heavy watch. It just melts over your wrist.

I own one of these. What amazed me the most is how relatively flat it is for a diver (just under 13mm thick!)
Yes it's not bad at all thickness wise. Great watch to have.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces i almost forgot to mention - it doesn't wear like a 45mm. Wears about 1-2mm smaller
That is a nice looking piece. Really like the intro Bob. My only suggestion would be (if possible ) to mention the price of the watches in the videos.

Of all the Seiko divers I have ever owned, the Sumo is my all-time favorite. I'm happy to see that Seiko has breathed some life into the third generation. Sapphire is great, the redesigned hands, indices, and font used on the bezel insert are all good as well. The extra power reserve of the 6R35 movement is welcomed although the 50 hours of the 6R15 was just fine.
A really big increase in price, however, at least in respect to the usual $450 USD we paid pretty routinely for the previous generation is a little disappointing. We'll see over time if the street price comes down.
Green watches are something that have interested me but actually owning one has never resulted in a love affair. I tried with an SBDC077 (Green Sea 62MAS) and a Nodus Avalon, but simply couldn't find a strap combination that I was happy with. I've looked pretty hard at the green Oris Aquis but since I don't wear my watches on bracelets, the strap issue comes up again. I've come to the sad conclusion that a green watch is just not for me. But I still like looking at them.

You can buy a nicer Steinhart for almost half the price of the sumo with better specs, size options and you don't have to do a QC check. Ceramic bezel 39mm or 42mm case 300m Swiss movement.
They're a good watch for sure. I've owned a couple. Nothing wrong with them but lately I've been a little bored with the sub homages.

I recently got this model. I really like it. The accuracy has been really good. The clasp does no bother me that it’s stamped, It’s done very well.
I’m a little disappointed in Seiko’s pricing. This and the black version are going for a little over $700 US while the grey, blue, and all black are over $800. Makes no sense for colorways to cost more unless the process so more involved. Also, lots of other watches for $700-$900.
I recently sold a 2nd Gen Blue Sumo. The older Sumos has a signed crown which the new ones no longer have. That is something I really do not understand.
I hear you. There's a few new models where I'm not sure on pricing. Paying premiums for certain colors is something I usually avoid too. Still loved the watch overall though.

Lovely watch, right up there with your Marine Master. I too, thought ceramic would have been more appropriate at the price point. I did prefer the font on the previous model. Whatever, I wish it was mine. Thank you for the review, and thanks also to the chap lending it in. Lucky guy.
It's funny, I know a few people that didn't like the previous font but I always thought it looked cool. The new Sumo even with the new font though is really nice. Thanks.
Ceramic bezel is less interesting. With aluminium, you have more shades of color
I have the older version. Now, I waiting for one with a ceramic bezel, like all the latest models.
