It looks like that but the sand texture is different, and very thin. The combined different currents hitting the islands also contribute to condensed waves that are called « sneaker waves » and would combine their forces into exercising a strong pull beneath the surface. This two facts are the reason a great deal of people slip in Iceland, Reynisfjara.
I went to this beach yesterday, honestly it has the most Erie feeling about it anyone that goes near the water for a photo needs Thier head testing let along turning your back on the waves 😬 then there's the high winds that push you towards the waves it's like the whole atmosphere is set out to get you towards the water
My company took my crew to Panama City Beach Fla. Once. My buddy and I threw our bags in the room. Put on our trunks. And walked out to the beach. We put our towels down with our smokes and flops. Walked to the point the surf was coming in shore. We both just stood there. After a minute or so. I asked him. Do you feel odd like something isn't right. He said yeah. My stomach is even felling funny. I said well I say let's trust our gut. We went back inside. We had forgotten our stuff so we walked back to get it. This lady that was there reading stopped us. She said she had tried to get our attention. That she saw us shaking our heads and decide not to go in. That as we had made it back to the room an 8 foot Tiger shark had swam right there at about waist deep then into the shallower water. She had hollered for us to come see it but we walked into the room. So if I ever feel off about anything I back off. That's the true sixth sense. It also lets you know when your being watched. Even animals have this. If you stare to hard at a deer. It will look right at you. The scariest time Iv ever had in the ocean. Was when getting my Driver's certificate. To join our rescue squads Dive Recovery Team. We had two open water dives. One was at day the other night. That night dive gave me the heebee geebees. I know what a worm feels like on a hook. There are fish out there at that depth bigger than the boat we went out on. I had my flash light but loathed using it. Lights attract fish. I thought I may get eaten. But I'll be damned if I'm going to ring the dinner bell. I kept the light against my body as much as possible. Lol I know I may have over reacted. But I was a child the summer Jaws came out. Hell I had a rubber shark. That if the water moved it wrong while I was taking a bath. My butt jumped out of the tub😅
@@STEVEN-STEELE the wind on that beach on a good day reaches 100mph, the sand pulls you down because it's so fine and the sneaker waves drag you out everything on that beach screams bad stuff, it's an amazing beach if you respect it though!
It would appear that the _call of the void_ is particularly strong on that beach. Mother Nature was good enough to teach me a valuable lesson about the ocean. And she let me walk (or swim) away with nothing injured but my pride & a snapped leggie strap. 🤙
I don't understand the necessity to *walk closer* to the waves to take a pic.. when you're in the fkn entire structure you want a pic of. Like.. it doesn't matter where you take a picture on the beach.. unless you're turned away from the waves.. you're gonna see the beach and waves. So I don't know WHY people continue to move closer to the waves... unless the waves are calling them to come to take that pic.. to come closer and don't be afraid. XD
Signs everywhere to be careful of sneaker waves and she walks right into surgery. You can be dragged into ocean and drown. Happens in Hawaii all the time.
Actually it did depend. If im not wrong, this is iceland's beach.Literally one of the most dangerous beaches, because the water is fcking cold and the waves are very strong, they can suddently and easily drag you in.Also, after the sand part the height of the water suddenly increases by a lot; if you get caught by the waves not only you don't have the strength to go back up,but you are literally in very much high water. A lot of people that were touring died in here just bc they didn't know these things,so...yeah
@@wowie7568 the problem really isn't that the water is cold the problem is that after the black sand there is a massive drop offf which causes death of people
Why is this beach deadly and so feared? Can’t a pro whose intention is to swim or do that? Would it be possible to brave this beach? I know it’s dangerous if you don’t even swim and are a tourist who’d been dragged to sea. But for someone who is expecting the cold (base layer surfing or scuba thermal clothing) And who’s ready to get dragged to sea, can he swim? Is it basically just a rip current? Or is it literally dragging’ you endlessly until you’re way too further out .
It's too cold, your body would go into shock and the waves here are really strong the videos don't really show it it's something you need to see in real life. It's so dangerous no one fishes in this area or swims or surfs nothing.
Sneaker waves!!! They look small, like they won't even come close to you, but they end up going much farther than you'd think, catching people off guard and pulling them into the freezing water
She looked very determined while walking towards de black waves... She obly stops when realizes that she is already too close to water.. then she reacts and run.. but quickly rethinks and turn towarsd the sea again thinking she outroun the wave.. but is in seconds that she realizes wave is even closer .. so she stupidly turns over again for restart running.. but dumbly falls ob her knees 😂😂😂😂
Oh my goodness that looks absolutely terrifying.I would never know what to do if I was in that situation.props to this brave lady for surviving the horror.
Nature didn't even show power and she literally tripped on thin sheet

Dangerous waves so they proceed to walk closer to it smh
Horror movies are based on true story
Another magnificent proof for Charles Darwin's natural selection!

I'm not seeing a huge dangerous wave. I see innocent white water and someone tripping over themselves
