  • Why relax your face muscles with a face meditation? Relax your face...relax your mind. We can hold so much tension in face muscles so it is important to take time to relieve facial tension.
    The mind and body is interconnected. So tension in the face can cause stress … and a stressed or anxious mind can cause your face to tense up.
    How to relax your muscles
    Use this facial tension release face meditation to relax your face muscles, in particular to relax your forehead and jaw muscles. You will notice that relaxing this small portion of your body will have huge results, even helping with tension headache relief.
    This meditation can be used on its own as stress relief, with a face yoga routine or just before putting on lotion. I use it as a meditation for headache.
    At the end of the video are some beauty affirmations to positively uplift your mindset about your face and body.

      @@GenerationCalm Is it common to feel a lot of stress in your zygomatic bone? Also, I deal with the same stuff as
      p i l o t does.

    • @GenerationCalm
      @GenerationCalm  4 года назад +3

      So I had to look up the location of the zygomatic bone 🙄... but it seems that its position by the temples is a prime area for tension from the jaw. Any stress or muscle tension in the face or even bad posture could have an effect. As well as trying to release stress and tension through meditation, self-massage of facial and neck muscles would probably help as would applying an ice pack (I use a balloon filled with a small amount of water before freezing it and wrapping it in a scarf).

      I suffer from the same, and despite looking for answers for so long, this is the first time I have heard of people complaining about the exact same thing as me! I was so close to deciding that I was just imagining it, even though I had a feeling it was connected to my disorders. Now I know that I am not. Could you guys tell me more about this, if you ever read this? Like how long you have had this specific symptom, how disturbing it can get on the regular, and what you normally do to alleviate it? Feel free to ignore this if it is too much!

    I've tension in my facial muscles because of suffering from facial palsy for more than Two years , the nerve is good now but the muscles didn't work and tension , please is that helpful for relaxing the tension muscles in my face?

    • @GenerationCalm
      @GenerationCalm  4 года назад +1

      I wish I was more knowledgeable in that area. However, now that your nerve is working well again, it is good to practice contracting and relaxing the facial muscles. This meditation can help with relaxation, along with massage. But you could also try progressive muscular relaxation which is a fancy phrase for saying tensing then relaxing the muscles. I have a 20 minute video on this technique ruclips.net/video/skg3JcSqYgM/видео.html but if you only want to concentrate on the face try the segment from 6:49 - 9:30

    i never understood this "aware of you body" how aware you need to be? i am aware of it all the time anyway. Trying to be aware of doesnt make any difference.

    • @GenerationCalm
      @GenerationCalm  4 года назад

      Good question and it's hard to answer. Some people who experience anxiety are hyperaware of their body and its various sensations (like if you get anxious about your health and become concerned when your heart beats faster). In which case it's just too much. However, other people are up in their heads thinking a lot about the future and what horrible things may happen, in which case, distracting yourself from those thoughts and bringing yourself back to the moment with some body awareness is good. What you're looking for is the right amount of body awareness for you. And this may change over time. So when I say become aware of your body, it's a gentle reminder to just notice the moment, and not be thinking about something else. The most useful is just noticing your breath.

      I wondered about this, as well. If I may offer you this; to me, being 'aware of my body' means to be cognizant of WHERE I'm holding TENSION and release it as many times a day as I can. Usually, it's my shoulders and my forehead that need release several times a day. Hope this helps
