I've a question if you're still active. Shit like 1:22 is pretty rare to see - 4/4 done with 3 fingers and consistent string switching. My question is - how automatic have you been able to get this stuff? As in how "intuitive" does it feel for you to play this way compared to 2 fingers/pick/whatever? I'm asking because I'm debating whether I should throw more practice time on 3 fingers or just put all my efforts into getting faster with 2, where shit like string switching, feeling the time and so on is obviously way easier.
The short answer is - go for three fingers. No reason not to use the utilities you have at your disposal, and you'll thank yourself later for the work getting more\better tools in your toolbox. I've played with three fingers from day one, so I just play the number of fingers I feel like that day without thinking about the math or logic behind what I'm playing.
