I followed the top-down approach after listening to this video and that did help me retain the information better. Earlier I was going through all that information that was present in the CFA Level 1 module. I passed my CFA Level 1 exam in the November window of 2022, thanks to Mark's techniques.
Another way to do the top-down approach with you content (this is the way I do it) is to first see the review video (not the main one) and then move on to the main video. The review video will give a roadmap overview of the reading and put those questions in mind... Then the main video which is usually much longer would not seem very daunting. At least that's how I do it. I go review video - - > main video - - > EOC video. If I understood the reading and I want to review it later, I skip the main video all together.
I studied for L2 using only review videos cause I only had 3 weeks and a half to study, which were given to me full time. This was the exact process -> Study through review videos (which tackle the core of what you need to know) and do exercises with the aid of the Formula sheet. If the review video needs more explaining, go to the full video and jump to the part that is unclear. Again, 3 weeks and a half of study and I got 90th percentile. It's about the process, not the time.
I took CFA level 1 two days ago and I must say I was feeling happy about how i performed. I demolished FRA thanks to your site! It didn’t only help me during the exam but also on a career level. Definitely going to subscribe for level 2 once results are out.

Hello Dr.Meldrum, Could you please make a video discussing about career paths in financial field for students or freshmen being able to consider, and then make a plan for their future? Thank you sir
Hey. Having a lot of trouble with bonds. Is there anything I can do to make the subject more concrete? Easier to make sense of derivatives and equities. Bonds doesn’t stick
Based on the number of candidates that have moved from one level to the next for the next scheduled exam, 94%. That will become more difficult to track now that there are multiple exams per year. However, in a few weeks, we will be introducing free upgrades to any candidate that fails using our service. This will allow us to track repeats since passes will be harder to track.
@@MarkMeldrum Thank you Dr. Mark. I am one of the unfortunate casualties of my first try at L2. I used your service and I found it to be very helpful, just fell short on exam day. Will you send an email or do a video about the upgrade? I greatly appreciate it.
Do you think those who will take Level 3 now are in disadvantage in relation with the formula entry? Now they only take the final answer and give full credit or nothing. The alternative that they offer is entry the formulas through the program which would take a lot of time, and we do not have practice with that; the second alternative is to explain the process which one is following, which again it takes a lot of time in comparison to writing the formula with a pen, and again we never prepared to do that in our responses till now
Dr. Mark, I am a student of yours who has been deferred twice for Level III, this last time on December 2nd (crushing). I'm going through your content and the material again, and it seems like I have seen it so much that its getting harder to retain/master again this third time around. Any tips for how to tackle this heading into the May exam? Thanks!

I would like to ask at this stage one question professor. I’m reading the content for L2 my way and I’m attempting the CFAI EOC questions honestly and scoring around 80 percent of them correct all the time. Does this mean I’m going in a good direction?
Hi do you think there is an 'issue' with the reading repartition on your mocks? Like say I get 40% of TVM questions in quants. Or like no valuation question in Equity, or 60% of FRA questions on income taxes and long lived assets. Can that happen on exam day too? I hope its more 'smoothed' on exam day..
