Sabres get an A for entertainment value; B for effort and D for results against Canucks. I watched the Vancouver announcers, the best in the NHL in my humble opinion. They were quick to mention that the sabres are sloppy w' the puck and make low percentage passes when exiting their own zone. Overall I agree with them. The Sabres still lack that discipline and mental toughness to be a playoff team. We still give up to many odd man rushes and breakaways. The Canucks and way to many of these. Bryson is brutal defending around the net and henri jokiharju is not much better.

Bryson is the worst at a .871 Team On-Ice Save Percentage
Save % while this player/team was on the ice. But Joki is the best at .946. So you are half right. Dahlin hasn't finished any of the last 5 years above .900. And he doesn't kill PK's. He's the problem nobody acknowledges. When he's on the ice the teams save % is .893 for his career in all situations. And much worst while on the PP & PK. In 500 games he's only + 70 goals overall. And a minus 5v5. When Dahlin is on he ice the team shoots 9.7%. Sad considering he starts 64% of faceoffs in the O-Zone. Kris hinted at it tonight & Matthew has changed his tone in the last 30 games.

@wyomingtrout5581 I watched the same broadcast. There are only a handful of opposing team broadcasts that I will watch with sound on, but Vancouver is one of them. So I agree with you there. Comparing this with the Minnesota game, both opponents were very comfortable playing without the puck, pressing and counterattacking, but Vancouver pressed us more in our DZ and the NZ than Minn did. Minn built a wall from the blueline in. I don't think I can say I have seen the Sabres comfortable without the puck, even with a lead.

99% of time Jack Quinn goes to shoot or pass he loses the puck, it flips over or under his stick, AHL playoffs he did the same thing, he needs a larger stick blade and a mental coach

You trade Owen Power you need to have your head examined

@newsfrombelow The only caveat I would add is if you don't get him a partner this season or next who can help develop him to his full potential, then you also need your head examined, and have to start asking if another team can turn him into more than we can.

@robwise7494 he's way better than Dahlin was in his 3rd year. He's on the cusp of dominating offensively and in a few years I doubt his defense will be an issue. He's not as flashy as Dahlin but he's damn good at 21

@@newsfrombelow I hope your projection is right. I fully acknowledge Dahlin went thru the same growing pains.

Sabres defense core is a joke a pee wee hockey club would skate around this group.
