Really enjoyed. Hearing Paul Harvey tell a story. I remember every day at lunch. Listening to him tell his stories. We would sit there listening to every word. It wasn’t lunch with listening to him ,
What a tug-of-war Charles must have endured.....honoring our country yet the sorrow of human loss. 😢 Thank you for his quotes. What a treat to have a dpecial organ performance! 😊
I can't even imagine the amount of practice and talent it must take to play one of those. My mother played organs like this and I was always spellbound by just watching her play. :)
I have been looking for an episode of Paul Harvey. All I remember is, it is about a boy who grows up to become the governor of Tennessee...I think it is Tennessee. At the beginning a couple of missionaries sit in a restaurant and a man is walking around shaking hands with the other customers. The missionaries, a man and wife, hope he doesn't come to their table. He does. He sits down and starts to tell them about a little boy who grew up in the area. After he leaves they ask the waitress who the man was and she tells them that is the Governor. Anyone know of this episode??? Thank you everyone.
An organ reminds you of death? I wonder if you associate them with funeral homes or funerals themselves. I've never heard that before but it makes sense. :)
Pipe organ/organ, campanile/carillon, accordion/squeezebox, harp/harpsichord, calliope, acoustic/Spanish guitar, violin, steel guitar, bass, sax/horns, harmonica, or even bagpipes, in the right hands these things can all bring happy tears to your eyes imho, and in the wrong hands they just bring tears. The moral of the story is, if you know you suck at it, please don't fiddle with any of it (pun intended). 😂
He isn't 'playing' the organ, he has B E C O M E the organ. The coordination between hand and foot is beyond compare! Why do I want to play this on 'hallow's eve', whilst the children come seeking their treats? BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I'm glad hearing this brought back fond memories. Did you ever get the stare of death if you made a single sound? I sure did. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed this episode. You're right about the tug-of-war. :)
Wow! Loved hearing that organ being played! Was fascinating to see that he played the pedals with bare feet!

NGL, this one was a little bit of a gut punch.
It was certainly a shocker. :)

I can't even imagine trying to play that. It would take total coordination between all limbs. hahaha. Oh man, that would be fun for Trick or Treat. :)
