Exactly. The best way to grow up is on a mixed farm. Cattle, Hay, grain and pasture. I am right now in the fight of my life to get the family farm. Nobody else wants to do anything on it or run it but they all want the money if its sold. What a bunch of scabs.

So you think your invisible imaginary god can bless farmers do you? You would think your god would help the two million plus children that starve to death every year around the world. Or how about people around the world who eat out of garbage dumps to survive. Or the millions that live in extreme poverty. Or how about the million plus children that are homeless here in the USA. It’s like your god doesn’t exist at all. Religious beliefs are ignorant primitive superstition grow up.
Tomorrow is my father in laws funeral, at 99+, he was one of these farmers that did everything in this amazing talk by Paul Harvey. He farmed in South Dakota, raised nine children, took them to schools for many years until some were old enough to drive, Church on Sundays nine miles away. Always working to better their lives, worked hard and prayed hard. May you Rest In Peace, the gate is closed it is your turn to relax and enjoy the peace of heaven! Love you forever Dad!
That's awesome. My grandfather farmed Iowa for a long time. I spent many hours many days out there. It's hard work, but it makes you feel good and that you earned it. We had one cow named lucky that we never slaughtered. She was more of a pet, the kindest of souls she was.
I grew up on a large cattle and grain farm. This is so true. Every single person in America should listen to this and remember this every time they sit down to a meal.
We don't respect or even think about the men and women who toil on the land and do all the things that Paul Harvey just mentioned. Respect to you all. You work so hard and I appreciate it. Thank-you.
I certainly do... I pray and have an appreciation for the farmers who produce our food and the truckers who get it to us. I also have an appreciation for the bees' hard work and contribution in this process. My grandfather was a farmer that contributed a lot to the community in his day. My mama grew vegetables throughout my whole childhood having to raise 7 children on her own as a widow... I learned from watching her, my love for growing vegetables and the like. It's very hard... but rewarding work.AD-B🙂
I heard this during the Super bowl. When my baby brother died due to a farming accident his wife had it played during the funeral. I can't listen to it any more without tears.
This is one of Paul Harvey's best tributes! I loved it when he first delivered it back in the 50s or 60s and it is still a wonderful tribute. Thank You Paul Harvey!

I thank God he gave me a farmer. You will never seen a stronger more caring person on this earth! And he works from dawn to dusk everyday. You would never know he is retired from a 10-12 hr job. And then he would always come home and farm and plow.Thank you God for this man.
What a powerful message, so sad that we take many of these essential workers, for granted. God bless, and keep farmers from the United states, and other countries safe, strong and respect for the All Mighty!

Paul was one of greats. Back in the 70s, he had a daily radio show in NY. My late brother in law was a writer for him. So proud of him cause I loved Paul Harvey.
This aired during one of the Superbowls. It is powerful and 100% true. I worked on John Deeres in 1981. I was 24 years old. Went to many farms around North Texas to load them up on a flatbed. I knew a lot of farmers in my area. Good people. Hard working souls for little money.

@@danielharper635 We don't know yet (assuming we go all the way to the origin of the universe, otherwise see above response from Astrobrant2). Some of us believe in critical thought, the basis of the scientific method, and acknowledge what we do not know.
