    I love how Cristine explained the whole customer service side of having extras in case there’s a problem. :)

    I don’t know if you have that on the website but a good way to measure long-term buying in case a product sells out would be by including a button such as “add this to your wish list” or “be notified if we ever decide to restock” etc. So you can see the number of potential customers that were missed with the launch.

      Whoa, never thought about how companies use that data for their purpose, it isn't just a handy function for the consumer. Huh.

    Having these broke down sections mean I get to follow the podcast as I dont always have time to listen and find it hard to cut off the main podcast, and know where to cut off, so thank you for doing this.

    I genuinely love that this is very clearly a joint venture by both of you to the point where Ben can say 'we' and it no one will bat an eye. idk if that came out or sounds right, but sometimes I get the feeling that influencers who have these kinds of businesses very easily become the sole face of the company and therefore all its successes are linked to them only. With you guys however, though Cristine is probably the creative driver of all this, it's so obvious that you both invest so much into this venture, and are very open about that!!! Love you for it

    I like how you actually keep some back for customer service. Most big brands seem to lose them and you can't get it if you need to exchange it or when they're returned and they just get rid of the stock rather than put it back in circulation.

    You might have answered this already, but is there a possibility to bring back collection boxes in the future? Specially with Rona affecting the rainbow launch. That box is just gorgeous and my indecisiveness (I've never spent so much on nail polish or makeup in one go) and sleepiness (them early drops for night owl) made me miss it. I'm also asking because I really want to get at least a few of the polishes in the collection when available but if the box has any chance of coming back, I rather wait.

    I don't know how feasible this would be for your company, but I know that some figure, doll, and hobby companies that I buy from don't really bother projecting how many of a first edition run, collection, or limited edition they might need just from past data, and instead open up 'made to order' preorders to make those projections for them. The preorders are open for a few weeks, showing the final prototype, and then the items actually go into production and they order the number they needed to fulfill preorders plus extra to cover customer service issues and returns, plus a smallish amount for day 1 sales. If nothing else, having even a single order like that might give you a better idea of how those collections are actually performing over a longer period of time than minutes or hours.

    I think its important for businesses to maintain their quality standards in limited edition items. Im fine with items being limited edition for holidays or any other reason. However, if I buy something that I dont have much time to research for worry it will sell out, and I end up being disappointed by that item then well...im probably not going to buy from that company again for years. While I think its sometimes kinda dodgy for companies to bring back limited edition items; if its a good product with deserved clamour then im all for those businesses listening to their customers and bringing back a wanted product.

    • @glowfishin1
      @glowfishin1 4 года назад +6

      I think pre-orders matter in order to get books on bestseller lists like the New York times bestseller list.

    • @adriannebee2056

      As a former bookseller, I can tell you pre-orders do influence the quantity of books to the store. The distributors use the number of pre-orders to figure out how popular it will be in an area so they can plan around how many boxes to send. They do often send less than they project, most likely to keep from having excess stock just sit around after the initial spree, but bookstores can often special order for customers from the distributors when they run out, which again influences how much is sent in the regular weekly shipment.

  • @achanwahn

    What do you guys think of the many boxes being bought by bots and then sold online at prices normal people can't afford? Recently, another company called Games Workshop had this issue and to fight it, made an extended order so that every person who wanted one was able to order it at sale cost, after it sold out in 10 minutes of a much anticipated item & minutes later the sets were popping up on eBay right after the sellers bought most of the stock. I've noticed several of your rainbow sets marked at nearly $300 - $400 on eBay. Would you consider selling items 6 mo in advance to help the people who actually want them to get them?

  • @AmberKingmusic
    @AmberKingmusic 3 года назад

    This is why a lot of influencers tend especially with merch to pre-order and have their audience pre-order product because that way they can gauge interest and also with the pre-order you're paying for that upfront stock cost and manufacturing cost that way the influencer isn't having as much risk in creating that product this is not the case with the whole industry of pre-orders because obviously Apple knows that people are going to pre-order their products and same thing with video games with those industries where the sales are pretty much a guarantee the pre-order is more of securing your product due to the likely possibility of it selling out and it is more of buying ahead knowing that it's going to sell out rather than gauging interest and securing sales

    Since the rainbow collection box didn’t have the quantity u originally wanted, will you make more of the collectors box to sell later? Like without the polishes for those of us who bought the polishes with no box because those sold out?
