until this podcast episode i had NEVER heard john tell any "war stories" and you can tell that it was almost pulling teeth to get him comfortable enough to talk about it, i had thought it was kinda strange i had never heard about his combat experience to back up his training and thought that was odd, i am now convinced this dude is qualified more than most of the youtube tacticool vet bros, my respect for john went up ten fold, i never would have guessed that he had the crazy close encounters he has had.
He's the only guy alongside James Yeager and John Correa (asp) also Shawn Ryan that I take seriously the rest are just standard gun reviewers John spilt a guy with a SAW popping his cherry.....he's more than qualified
John Lovell is such a genuinely nice dude that you can easily forget he’s actually a badass. It’s like in the Simpsons when Ned Flanders takes his shirt off and he’s all ripped and jacked. You’re like, “Oh, theres something behind that okily dokily.”
Shawn: "How were you okay with that?" John: "Well you see..." Ranger Regiment: *misery, pvt fist fights daily, blood thirsty junior and senior leadership, indoctrination and ethos entirely built around killing, dudes that are entirely there just to get a chance to kill. John: "God was on my side."
I love this guy. Dude nonchalant talking about dying like it's just a walk in the park no big deal. This is a guy I would definitely enjoy being in war with. Someone who can laugh in the face of death. Bad ass. Goodstuff Shawn. Can't get this anywhere else. Lol kudos Sir.
He has a church here in my home town. Very healthy man for what he's been through. No divorce,no substance abuse. He has a pretty good formula for adjusting to civilian life happily.
I'm a WPS member and I really appreciate what John does. He's such a good and decent man with a great sense of humor. It's easy to forget that he has, no doubt, a serious body count.
Also as a fellow Christian I pray you all know that we are the most powerful warriors in all creation. It isn’t our desire to be this way but it is our Lords desire.
I am obsessed with these military stories. The US has the best military men in the world. I always say that every veteran should never have to work another day in their lives. They can work another job on top if they want, but they should all get paid. I got to meet President Trump in the VIP of a UFC event, and I said he should do that. He said that sounds like a great idea. I said they could use the billions being pumped into Ukraine. That should cover it.
Amazing guy but disconcerting to think that his own belief in an imaginary being gives him the same peace with battle and death as his adversaries have from their own belief in a different imaginary being.
There is ample evidence to support that we are not alone. From our own DNA to the countless accounts of the unexplained. Science does not support our accidental existence, despite those that believe in the hoax of it all being "imagination". There is a God. Ask any old scientists, doctor, or warrior. There are no atheist in the trench.

Not to go down the rabbit hole but I believe it's maybe a human trait developed/evolved to preserve the mind in the face of traumatic experiences. Human lives back to the stone age were short, miserable, and often full of violent ends. It's possible the people who were more inclined to believe the chaotic and random nature of life are part of a *bigger* spiritual grand plan had a better chance to pass on genes than the ones who fell into the fetal position after the first sabertooth attack.

This is my own opinion. I have watched so many SF interviews. This one is kinda different to me. Most of his words are not from combat he just bring them up, and so on, I have seen a lot in his interviews I don't like to say it
