I hardly remember anything about this movie. Couldn't even tell you how it goes but I still remember this scene. It was a powerful moment made more so by this perfect score.
I really love Burwell's work in this film. This piece especially. It's very meditative, and speaks something of the difficulty, confusion and mystery of trying to navigate life's trials and unrelenting strangeness.
Completely agree, I love how spare it starts before collapsing into a funeral march, the piano notes from 1:00-1:10 sound like question marks. Such fitting music for the film.
This movie is basically a flash forward to how I would feel in my 30s before I got there. When I arrived, I realised why I felt so strongly about watching the film eight years ago.

Yes, it's spare and perfect - Carter Burwell's best work comes working with the Coens imo.

Yes, question marks, I like that. That's a very good way to describe it.
It never really gets to the point
The questions are far greater than the answers in this film.
The answers are ambiguous and mysterious.

Yep, just like life
The score seems to be asking questions without giving answers like the movie. It doesn’t ever get to the point 😂
This movie gives me shivers every time.
The Coens just know how to make perfect, awful moments
One of the best Coen's in my opinion
It is a perfect movie

Reminds me heavily of Majula (Dark Souls2 ost) and other Motoi Sakuraba pieces.

Can someone make a piano tutorial of this?
Why does this remind me of Thomas Newman so much?
