It's worth realising that beavers have colonised part of the Longleat estate on their own. They were discovered - last year, I think - by staff, and welcomed with open arms. Since their arrival they've been breeding and doing well. If Longleat, why not Ambridge?
Yes that scene between Neil and Hannah in which Neil talks about his foundling past and his love for Nelly and then that journey through care was exquisitely written and delivered with sensitivity but never self indulgent. It kind of summed up the best of Neil with that simple gratitude for his family and his career and the life he has led. Joy and Rochelle. Swaying to and fro. I think that Joy has a lot to hide about her past and it is something to do with her and a man and that Rochelle was involved and was a victim of. She then went off the rails big time but Joy still put this bad bloke over Rochelle and then when he left or was imprisoned she fell apart. Clues? Rochelle saying ‘ Mam has really landed on her feet since she came to Ambridge’ ( and met Mick?) - there is no way that if Rochelle was not really messed up that she would not have been in contact with her kids on Christmas Day even if they were with Benny and she doesn’t appear to have spoken to them or had any contact with them or given them a second thought. It is all going to end in tears and big disclosures and recriminations . Rochelle runs away with Mick after saying ‘ don’t criticise me as a mother after the kind of mother you were to me’ . La La La ……La La La La……
Quentin, a fairweather fan? You've suddenly changed your allegiance from Brian to Neil. Robin Fairbrother (Anthony Head) suffered heart problems, and Rex or Toby went to look after him. I think it was when Pip and Toby were having a secret relationship before she had Rosie. The brothers were in a fraught partnership with Tom, raising poultry in a derelict caravan. Kirsty and Rex travelled along The Am, in his boat, researching beavers. The Bridge Farm scenario could be the beginning of a long term storyline to do with The Budget effects on farmers. Philippa, best wishes for the panto. I'm sure it will be a success (even if there isn't any actual, or mention of, food in it at all).
@@qrayner Sincere apologies. I've been an Archers fan since the Walter and Zebedee era, but fairly new to AATA. Only heard you mention Brian as your fave. I enjoyed the spats between Rex and Toby, especially with their poultry venture and the delapidated caravan.
Yes, we did already know about Rex's father. I seem to remember either Rex or Toby went to look after him for a while.
Yes we did
Thanks Shirley
The conversation between Neil and Hannah reminded me why I listen to the Archers. I've been drifting away from it's lately........
It was lovely
“Bahamburger!”😂😂😂
🤣

If Longleat, why not Ambridge?
Did the management at longleat openly tell everyone they wanted to get beavers but couldn’t afford them before they moved in naturally???

That’s excellent - love your script idea!
Sun 4th Jan @ 10am on Radio 4ex. From Cumbria To Ambridge.
Oops. Apologies. SATURDAY 4th Jan at 10am. Part 1 of 3.
Halitosis Rex😂 such a random claim Philippa
You never know! 🤣
Completely bizarre, entirely unfounded and uncalled for slight on one of the nicest people in Ambridge 🤷🏻♀️

Always a Brian fan but huge soft spot for Neil
Thanks for the background info on Robin as well, all of which I’d forgotten 🙏

@@janetsymonds1541Nothing to apologise about. Very impressive listening track record as well 😲
Thank you so much Janet, that’s brilliant! You will be relieved to know there are some food references in the pantomime!
