Love the designs! But Latinex? How about "Mexican American" or "Hispanic" ? "Latinex" sounds odd, as if meaning that "Latino" is scheduled to be no more; "ex" in the future. Words are crucial in radically changing one's perception and helping to keep or erase memory. In this case, "Mexican" + "American" & "Hispanic" are terms of "mucho orgullo" which must never fade or be pushed out of the culture. Plus, your designs as styled, definitely evoke these terms. Wish you much success in marketing these amazing items. Your creativity is inspiring!
I don’t like that term. I prefer the feminine and masculine terms better because I like defining myself! I’m not nonbinary, I’m a beautiful proud Latina 100% female!!
Why does the media keep using the LatinX thing? Spanish has its own grammar rules, developed through centuries. Those grammar rules say that nouns are gendered. It is either laziness from English speaking media to approach Latino culture in its own terms, or in the worst case scenario, another episode of colonization, this time by imposing a Western, English speaking view over Latino culture.
Nah, it's a way of saying Latino that's gender neutral. The younger generations started using the term and other similar terms so that it doesn't just assume masculine as the standard gender but also considers nonbinary individuals as well. Keep in mind people in Latin America rarely use the term Latino if at all, its mostly an American thing to differentiate from other brown cultures, so it's not necessarily colonialism (add the fact that the fact that any of Latin America speaking Spanish is a direct result of white colonialism). Rather, just younger Latin Americans trying to find a way to accommodate to a more diverse language if that makes sense. Tbh that's one thing, as a Spanish speaker I felt is lacking in the language is that we have no neuter tense, like in Latin and many other languages. Regardless if you agree with Latinx as a term or not, It would make life so much easier in the long run grammatically lol.
@we live in a society Latino IS gender neutral. It drops its male tone when speaking about a group of people. Example: "todos somos latinos" it's not just speaking about males it includes males and females and all. Some one transitioning to female would be called Latina and it's more inclusive since it reaffirms the gender identity of the person. Some one who identifies as neither is Latino since it becomes gender neutral plural.
Supposed to be a gender neutral version of latina/latino. Not really a universal latin american term but there are some people (latin american and others) trying to popularize it. I guess the idea is to make it easier to talk about people without knowing/mentioning their gender, but without using the male gendered word so as to not support the idea that male is the default gender? Which is probably why it's creating such strong reactions. I've also seen people try to push the -e ending as an alternative to -a/-o, but I guess -x is picking up more speed.
@@maybeyourbaby6486 Its not gonna fly with the latin community due to the suburban american latins pushing for some weird gender talk. Its not gonna change anything

Make one with skulls, graves, liquor bottles, hemp/coca leaves, and women in bikinis carrying ak-47’s. That would be more accurate for Los Tigres Del Norte.
Out of curiosity- any old mammies upset that shes cutting up traditional blankets? I think they're beautiful- just wondering the traditional significance ✌

Latinx is not a term. It’s either Latino or Latina or Latin
That don't even exist. It is not a race.

The plural for Latinos and Latinas is Latinos. There is no need to be politically correct because the word is already correct in the Spanish language.
Had this same idea years ago but never was able to make it into reality due to me not being able to sew

I look to their Website Those Coasts costs 500$

They look like the new blankets that are thin and won’t keep one warm. No leather trims for quality.
This is what I'll be making to survive the cold 🥶.

Yes because TIGERS are indigenous to MEXICO...
The tigers are not but the blankets are. Ask any Mexican if they have ever had one of these blankets, I'd be surprised if one of them says no.
