This is so amazing! Jake because of you I told my mom on Thursday how much I have been struggling with my mental health lately. I have been wanting to tell her for a few years now and it was so terrifying but I finally did it. I thank you so much for you and your videos helping me to have the courage to tell her. ❤
From what you have shared on RUclips from the very beginning, every step of your journey to be a doctor and serve mankind has been brave. You are a role model for the ages in every way. It must be an honor for those in your life to cal you “friend “. Bravo Jake
Oh my god congratulations! After I got diagnosed with bipolar, I started losing hope of ever becoming a doctor. Seeing your journey is so inspiring. Thank you so much for giving me hope!

THANKS🙌🏼 Literally first doctor I 'met' who talks about his own mental health! I'm a vet, I struggled too, had to pause University twice because of my mental health (100% stress related), felt so alone at university, but because of my amazing friends and family I made it! I'm so proud of myself! I'm hopeful for health care workers future, thanks to people like you who dare to stand up tall & be nice at the same time!🤙🤙🤙❤️ You stand up for waaaaaay more people than we can ever imagine I think.
I applaud you for this!!!🥰 When you have a nasty cold you go to the doctors. It should be the same with depression and every other psychiatric problem. So many people go untreated because of the stigma and live rather limited lifes instead of fulfilled ones!
Man…. I work in the health care system and I know how fucking devastating such a brave thing can be to your career……so THANK YOU for being so brave!!! This will help others in the future 🙏🏼🎉
Drs are people too. Drs have so much trauma emotionally from every thing you go through with patients daily. It breaks my heart that drs don't have the same empathy and compassion that drs show us. I'm truly proud of you for being brave and telling your story. All drs should be taken care of with out discrimination.
That's what you're meant to do, doc You help people Sometimes by being there as a doctor, and sometimes for speaking up and helping others with that Thank you ♡
My psychiatrist also runs a Medical student and HO mental health program for the University of Michigan. Hopefully more physicians are getting help early on.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. It was my first day as an intern today and I watched one of my patient's die. It has been so traumatizing, I am just hoping this gets better🥺
I don’t take medications for anxiety or depression. It’s not that I think they’re bad or that it’s wrong. I’ve just had too many bad experiences with anxiety and depression medications, even one for sleep that ended up just making me depressed, that I’m scared to take any of them now. BUT, I am always glad to hear (or read) about someone choosing to do something about his or her mental health instead of hiding the problem until it’s just too overwhelming, and I’m always glad for anyone that has a good experience with any type of medication for mental health issues. I hope you continue to thrive in your journey!
There are a lot of physicians who have had to take psychiatric medications or still do. Just a fact of life. The profession does not look down on that. Far more common than you might think.
It's true but you also have to understand the fear people have when they find out their doctor struggles with mental health disorders. We see you as the ones to help keep us calm when we are given life changing news. Knowing you struggle with depression can cause is to freak the fuck out. It's a normal reaction

Way to go Jake, way to go!
You're awesome. I spent my whole working life hiding the fact that I take mental health meds. I was a CMA.
You are one brave man.
Congratulations!
Well done! 💗
And, thank you. ❤️
You are a true inspiration for every doctor struggling with similar issues. Lots of love ❤️

What type of doctor are you?
Good curious? Why do you feel tge need to share? No one keeps it personal
Yeeeeaw boi
This is probably a crazy question but do you know the difference between a doctor and a surgeon
I’m a therapist. Meds are normal. Some people could die with no meds?
Unmmmmmm let’s fucking gooooooooo
I know you stole this video from my brain
