- Abandoned Don Pablos - Monroeville, PA. Many thanks to Kayla to spotting this old restaurant here in my neck of the woods. I had completely forgot this one existed! We found some old neon signage still completely intact! Enjoy a little look around this place!

Kayla has Don Pablos chicken nachos in her DNA. It was one of my favorite restaurants and I ate frequently when she was in my belly
I miss Don Pablo's so much! The one that was near me (Columbus, OH) is now a doctor's office 🙄
The outside of the building almost reminds me of an old school. Nice fountain inside, too!
The Don Pablo's in Christiana Delaware still has all its signage on the building.

It seemed like that place did really well there. It was packed at times. I was very sad when it closed. From what I remember the food was pretty good.
Best salsa ever. Miss it so much. Me and wife would go every week.

The empty store next to AtHome used to be a grocery store. The KMart garden shop was on the left hand side of AtHome

I really miss don pablos...was soooo good and such a fun atmosphere
Just a note, the garden center at the former Kmart was on the left side of the building as you faced the store. The spot to the right was once a grocery store at one time after it closed kmart used that space for fixtures and backstock for patio furniture.
I think it was a Shop n Save!

Where i live in Michigan, we had a Don Pablos, Macaroni Grill and Logans Roadhouse all next door to each other, all closed at least 5 years ago. 2 still empty, one was knocked down last year and a smaller building put up in its place.
I worked at the last ever Don Pablo’s in Deptford NJ,building is now decrepit was gonna be a Millers Ale House but lost the liquor license
Fun fact: I worked here making tortillas in that little hut high As F@@k in the early 2000s. Made a good friend name Grant here can’t remember his last name now but we worked here and also worked at Sony making big screen TVs somewhere way down south in PA. .. they closed in 2014? Dayum
I loved this place. Had several birthday dinners here. Their fajitas were out of this world. Shame.

I think exit signs have their own battery incase of fire or emergencies where the power goes out.
I loved Don Pablos. My ex and I use to eat at the one in Robinson Twp by Sam's every Wednesday. Miss Don Pablos!!!

The Monroeville K-mart’s garden center was on the opposite side of the building. The vacant area you were referring to as the garden center was a grocery store.
There is still a Don Pablo’s in Statesville NC, and this is 2023, just FYI….. 😊
Very much appreciated. From 1983-1984, I worked the evening shift at this very Kmart after working the day shift up the road at Ponderosa Steak House (now Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center). FYI, the Monroeville Historical Society has an extensive on-line photo collection spanning mid-1800’s to the present. Thanks.
I miss their corn cake. I remember when I was pregnant my boss bought me five orders of it for lunch 😂
My favorite restaurant chain. Gone forever. I still crave it to this day. Nothing comes close. 😥
there was a don pablos in chesapeake and i didn't know. it's now closed along with every other location
The one near me became a Fuddruckers then it shut down during the “Covid” period and now is an abandoned eyesore
I always ordered the Don's Primo combo all chicken and poured the queso on everything including the rice i sure do miss Don Pablos was my favorite place to eat i went to the one in Canton Ohio before they turned it into BJ's Brewhouse now
There’s an abandoned Don Pablos in Waterford Michigan. Been closed since 2002.
Damn Don has lost his tacos lol is any other building up there Closed. Is TGIF & Olive Garden still in their spot. Other than BABY R US.

You got to come to Fostoria ohio .North West Ohio. There's a old Kmart store .the red letter k is still on the back of the building. It's a small kmart

I believe At Home occupies many old Kmart buildings. The one by me was a Kmart too.
The K-Mart that was by me in Michigan eventually became half Big Lots and half Hobby Lobby.
I remember when it was just chi chi’s, don pablos and mad mex. Now Mexican restaurants are popping up like dollar generals.
Is the Monroeville Mall gone now too, first Mall I remember going to about 1969-70
There's none left. The last one closed in 2019.

Oh man I had no idea. I know the entire chain went under a few years ago. I had no idea that happened though.

@@WallieB26 k h is right - a guy shot his wife in the parking lot (if I remember correctly), and it closed. That was long before the Robinson one shuttered.
It's sad to see this Monroeville Don Pablos look like that. That was my favorite and the queso was awesome. It's sad to see the Kmart gone, but Home goods was a nice recovery of the building. I think I've only gone in there 2 times. My Medical Oncologist office is in the building behind the Kmart. Thanks for sharing what you discovered!
