I don't know what the virus looks like. May I suggest that as their going outside give it a chance and see what happens in better light and for that growing season.
For the sake of the other plant, and the worry it’s causing. Throwing it away would be best. Good grading, most of my orchids would be a SW, still waiting. 😬
it needs the plastic bag or burning treatment. sad that is un savable. I think a lot of people get rid of virused orchids to unsuspecting buyers or gift recievers, good video, thank you
I have 2 of these with many black markings. Ive cut off most of the leaves and I will be spraying with anti fungal spray and will be putting them far from the others. Its all I can do for now.
Thanks Roger. I have to agree with you about the cymbidium but of course you might wait for blooms to see if there is color break..... but then, what do I know?😁 You'll do what's best.
I agree Roger. I would throw it away. Don’t risk the other plants.

That was done last year. The markings on the new growth are conclusive.

Unfortunately I don’t think you can get phyton in GB, I’ve used it and the plants have grown out of the mosaic pattern.
I agree. I’d get rid of it.

This will go to land-fill - well away from any green recycling.
Time for the cymbidium to move along 😢
Certainly is.

This is a virus - there is no cure/treatment for viruses.
I keep plants way too long. I agree, it's had a chance, time to make more room for something else.
And it needs to go to land-fill, not green recycling.
That virus is hard to see. Sullivan got easily distracted & fell apart.....

It's not long finished blooming and the blooms were ok - but colour-break on blooms doesn't happen with all types of virus.
@@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai Thank you Roger, I did not know that.
Hello Roger, Unfortunately, I would let it go if it were mine. Too much of a potential risk to your other orchids.
Exactly.
If this cymbidium infects other plants it would be a big loss. My thought would be, when in doubt throw it out.
It's not worth the risk to the other plants. Be Gone!
Thanks the problem - keeping a plant totally separate in a collection is difficult.
That's a goner Roger
Indeed.
Out it is for the best. 😢😢😢
Thanks.
Dump it!
