He actually says "while I read my Uta Hagen and studied the Bard," the Bard being the common nickname for Shakespeare, not "studied the bar" like being a lawyer.

Weird Al once stated that this song was inspired by a comment like "what have I done with my life?" made a Jungle Cruise Ride tour guide, according to him probably off-hand. If this is true, then I have to say it is impressive how such a comment can lead to such a great song.

I wouldnt put it past Weird Al. He's very talented and highly intelligent.

@@mrodmediampire4735 My mother claims that if someone has the credentials and the talent for something, they should keep at it towards trying to obtain that job; especially if it's Hollywood related.
According to her; f they didn't get the job, they've either done something wrong, didn't try hard enough or they just didn't measure up to the company's standards.
Take Squidward Tentacles, for example; he HATES working at the Krusty Krab and wants to become a popular musician/artist instead. But all he does is walk around complaining and insulting people...doesn't sound like someone with a lot of passion or drive in their life

Weird Al was, surprisingly, working on a degree in architecture at California Polytechnic of San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO) before he hit it big. Some fun facts:
Weird Al was Valedictorian at his High School
For one of his architecture projects he designed a building shaped like a hotdog
Some of his first songs were recorded in a Cal Poly bathroom which now has a plaque

Oh yeah, my favorite Al song has to be "Hardware Store" (original)
Other suggestions, I'm not sure what you've listened to:
      - Bedrock Anthem (Red Hot Chili Peppers parody)
      - Dare to Be Stupid (Devo "style" parody)
      - I Lost on Jeopardy ("Our Love's in Jeopardy" parody)
      - Word Crimes ("Blurred Lines" parody)
      - Jurassic Park (This is a parody... but I can't remember the name of the song)
      - Midnight Star (original)
Picked some deeper cuts and some more well-known stuff. :-)

I was about to suggest hardware store as well.
I also like "Germs" (a wierd Al original) , which was written quite a while ago, but is so apt right now.
Also Jurrasic Park is a parody of McArthur Park.

@@matthewgregory9302 Thanks! I had totally forgot the name! Germs is pretty topical too.

This isn't exactly a parody of Pork'n'Beans. When Weird Al does originals that are not parodies he does them "in the style of". So this is an original song in the style of Weezer

It's very down-to-earth and not over-the-top absurd like most Weird Al works.

Forget Hollywood, I'd rather act at my local Renaissance Faire; which offers far more memorable experiences

You are the only guy I found who reacted to this song. There's only one other song I like now that has not been done.

I noticed a lot of different Weezer influences in this song actually! Mostly Pork and Beans though. :D
Do you think you could review the Hamilton Polka? That's one of his newest compositions! :)
