my son had the wonderful experience of traveling and performing with the group, what an amazing job they did!!! The talent of being together for 3 days and to sound as they did.....speechless! We love you Luke and are very proud of you
Hi Daniel. I've loved listening to this performance of "Praise You" and have just now read some of the comments here... I remember writing the part I think you're referring to... Is it the melody that plays in the intro? It was originally written for tin whistle for our church choir - but I believe was changed to piccolo when Bradley Knight arranged it. Great job! I still get chills when I hear various groups perform this song! Humbled that your choir and orchestra would not only perform it, but enjoy it.
Thank You for posting !! My daughter is on this tour and just absolutely loves this song and performance. If you are on this trip please keep posting videos, the web cams are such a tease, but I imagine the music as I view them.
aandrob - Thank you so much for posting this video. Our son plays the alto sax in the band. Your daughter has such a beautiful voice. What an impressive group of talented young musicians! We are proud of everyone of them, and know that they are wowing their European audiences! Please keep posting videos of this performance. Thanks again!
@aandrob Thanks for sharing, I am addicted to this video. You have done a wonderful job. BTW - I talked with my son while they were in Stresa. He is having a great time and isn't homesick at all. Imagine that! :p
2 interesting things- 1. Is- everybody that has seen the hunchback of notre dame animated disney video from 1996 should recognize notre dame in real life and tour it just like i did 7 years ago in 2010- i was one of five percussionists, and 2. Although this sound of the america group last time i heard is now gone for good (R.I.P.- i had fun with this group founded in 1976), if anyone desires to when they get into college- they can attend USA or Canada summer orchestra music festivals like tanglewood in boston massachusetts 10 weeks long , music academy of the west in santa barbara california 10 weeks long , aspen music festival in aspen colorodo 10 weeks long , and Prisma in powell river canada 2 weeks long VSiOW in whistler canada 1week long (3 weeks if you put prisma and vsoiw back to back ), or attend the legendary disneyland all american college band in anaheim california founded in 1971 ( 5 years before SOA was founded and born) 10 weeks long and it's a jazz band and marching band in one 21 person group:):):):) Those are the options i suggest if anyone is looking for summer fun when they get into college:):):):) Show less REPLY
@samknechten Yes i went to SOA in 2011! it was amazing and it was so worth the money! the worst thing about the trip was the goodbyes! it was incredibly painful!!!!! it still hurts just thinking about that last day! :( i would highly reccomend you go!
@jdfloyd1995 To be Honest, SOA was not TExas All state callibur, but the experience was way better! I made the Texas All sTate band a couple of times and got 2nd in the state in 2011 on Clarinet 5a! look me up! CARLOS AGUIRRE.! and well to be honest i would have preferred to have gone more times to SOA than all state! the experience was so unforgivable!!!!

We sang this in my choir called the New Generation Singers and we loved it! I hope to sing it again this year. =)
I toured with SOA in 1990 with "Daddy Shaw"...best experience of my life! you all are wonderful!
Even now, I'm still getting chills remembering all the great memories I had of that tour.
I miss everyone so much = v=
I really enjoy this performance. My brother is the one playing the piccolo and did the duet with the girl singing. An excellent perfomance.
Absolutely beautiful! Dr Klein is a wonderful director, and this is obviously a talented group.
Ah I miss playing this song! The piccolo part was so much fun! I loved every moment of this song and got chills Everytime we played it :)
